David Bright sacked from Rovers with possibly Gorringe about to follow too and presumeably Barton under review These new owners want their own men apparently. Big changes at the club. Talk about jumping to conclusions!

No matter what situation Rovers find themselves in, whenever a list of club woes is formed, no matter how concerning/serious or dire you can 1000% guarantee the sacking of the ‘award winning programme editor’ will always be on there😄 Well, Keith was treated like crap for no reason. I don't like that the club does that. Keith isn't a bloke who starts sh** or spreads rumours, so why get rid? Just one in a long line sequence.. Methinks DB could be the fall guy for TG misgivings, maybe - maybe not - but the club have had a huge turnaround of established staff before DB was here, he's just another patsy... This is fast becoming the club most of you wanted but I am a stick in the mud for familiarity, personal professional service and quality product. You couldn't go wrong with the carvery pre match. Burger in a bun with no lady gardening salad, or a nugget that might have seen 1% of chicken for kerching doesn't wash with some. The club have tried to fix parts that weren't broken, so DB becomes another footnote in TG reign.

I think Bright made the mistake of blabbing about the new South Stand at a business function, however, I have always viewed it as primarily a Gorringe project. Maybe the planning expert warned the wrong person? I do think that we are likely to get permission soon, and, with the ground having been done, the stand won't take that long to erect. (may well end up with egg on my face for this!) Bloke also gave it large to fans who dared question timescales on Twitter. Complete half wit who got the job as he was mates with the right people. Brutal!

It was fully possible to hold onto the community elements of the club while embracing professionalism.
Problem is, WAQ has had his hands burnt by individuals not named in this thread, and you all know the stories, people who have left before now and it was right that they left.
And because a couple of those people were old faces, good blokes like Keith or Nick Day also got the boot, leaving nobody who actually had anything to do with the club pre 2016 anywhere near it.

Top Gasman Totally agree. Thoroughly decent bloke and Rovers through and through. Did a fantastic job with the programme. I haven’t bought one since he was forced out.

It's just how it moves on...... litigation against the club? Settling out of court? There has to be a different way....a better way?

Nick Day retired didn't he, that's not the same as getting the boot! Agree regarding Keith though, was nothing broken there.

UTG It would be disappointing to lose AC. If we are supposed to be having a go..bad business imo replacing young forward who did okay last year with forward that wanted out a few years ago. Why not have both and have a proper go at the league.

The family tent was meant to fill all of one side of the east terrace until it was discovered it blocked the site lines and had to be reconfigured . Then both the new tents were put up without planning permission and retrospective permission had to be sought . this was all before Bright arrived at the club. The new bars were a success but they were organised by Butcombe bitter. Saying that over the country as a whole 85% of planning applications are dealt without delays, so BCC are clearly under performing in a big way and have to take allot of the blame the south stand mess.

gorringe is one of those clever blokes that is seen and heard only on good news days. Now that everything that can be has been outsourced won't be surprised to see a broom coming his way Reality is we do not know what goes on behind closed doors. However, taking the new South Stand as an example, I cannot see the authority to commit funds lying with the Head of Sales. So authority to commit was given without a clear pathway for the project to be completed, which is extraordinary. I do know that free help from a very experienced gashead in all aspects of gaining planning permission was offered and declined. Mr Bright was warned by this person that gaining permission in the time frames suggested was highly unlikely. And so it came to pass. Having met both men, Gorringe and Bright I was a bit perplexed. Bright appeared to be an earnest ops guy running around like a rabbit in the headlights, Comms device glued to his hand as he was desperately trying to resolve the crisis of the moment. In that instance it was the Fleetwood owner and directors shouting very loudly about being seated in the middle of Rovers fans. It was hilarious and especially sweet now that the main loudmouth is now in prison. All the while Gorringe was floating around as if a ghost with a featureless face suggesting he had just seen Medusa. To be fair Oldie many on here like me who don't normally know our arses from our elbows knew that Ticketmaster are utterly incompetent, our shirts are always late, a clip art pirate does not make a badge and Planning permission was needed for the new stand BEFORE pulling down the old one.

There's always hidden agendas with certain people. In regards to Barton I think he's the right man for the job he knows his stuff on the field and the quality of players both perms and loans have improved since he's been at the helm. Whilst he's not everyone's cup of tea and his off the field antics are much to be desired there is no denying that he is good at his job and he is doing what he's paid to do 17th and a £3million loss? Will be interesting how the new owners see this. I actually think from a football point of view Barton is capable. When he doesn't have a court case going on he seems pretty good and has recruited pretty well football wise. The problem with Barton is almost completely off the field. If he could manage a season or 2 without getting in trouble Rovers might do well under him.

Although there as been mistakes on our part. Let's not forget the local lobbyists are cunning and will jump from one group to the next. We should of been more aware of the articulate campaigning of local groups who are experts in delaying and calling things in. It's unfortunate as a club we lack local support like other clubs. Mostly south Bristol people at Ashton support the revamping of the gate. The same with most other clubs. I do think this is a class issue as well but that will be a long process to explain. In summary we haven't help ourselves but the locals will manipulate any issue to cause delay : interpretation and confusion. We underestimated the local opposition and its agendas!. I have a horrible gut feel that this is going to turn into another Sainsbury’s type saga. Would the council allow what seems to be a simple replacement stand, go to a judicial review, really ?

17th and a £3million loss? Will be interesting how the new owners see this. Are you forgetting that he had to repair the major damage done by Garner, Tisdale and Widdrington prior to his appointment. That does not fit Oldie's agenda.

There was nothing I liked on the main hospitality menu, so I had to choose from the chldren's choices.
