Indeed. I don't read the paper so don't know (or care) but this sounds like a load of unnecessary nonsense. If you don't care, then nothing for you to worry about then, surely? Lets just get behind the team. If this 'Bunker' mentality makes the team better as a result, then I'm all for it. I'm sure Alex Ferguson did the same. What? Who is not behind the team? This story is just another load of nonsense brought about by another totally unnecessary social media post by the manager. Who cares if he talks to them or not. The focus of the club should be on sorting out the South Stand fiasco and on the performances of the first team (a lot else behind the scenes I would imagine).

Don’t think I have bought a newspaper this century. Their website is absolute garbage…….not an easy read. Down with the Post……Long live King Joey

Weird to reference Ollie, the bloke wrote for the post for 3 years and wrote many many many negative articles about the club during that period. Holloway is a true fan but an honest man, I think. When he sees an issue he’ll say so.

Good riddance to the rag full stop, about as respected and relevant as the BBC. Hey, be fair. Nobody is aware of the evening post protecting pedophiles and covering up grooming as yet so don’t lump them in with them Whilst providing a protective culture for Paedophllia is the most despicable and abhorrent crime committed by the corporation (that we know of), there are IMO many other aspects to the BBC that are seen by many as farcical, offensive and patronising, where comparisons can be drawn with the BL. IMO there is a long list of actions created by the BBC that have resulted in a constant increase of people no longer paying for the license. Let's not forget who is behind the BL while digging a little deeper, how many days Murdoch has on this planet remains to be seen, but there will be celebrations in some areas, particularly Liverpool. Put together, the BBC and printed media combine to create a force of fear and misery, the result of which is easily detected when walking outside the front door and just mingling in society IMO.

Can't say I've seen anything on the Post website recently that could be deemed as negative towards Rovers, or in favour of the Teds tbh.
People used to say exactly the same about HTV, Roger Malone etc. These perceived biases are all in the minds of some fans of both persuasions.
Can't see it's much of an issue though if Joey has stopped talking to them because I'm not sure he ever did. Most of the stuff they publish is from his pre match and post match interviews and Radio Bristol chats, I can't remember him ever sitting down exclusively with someone from the Post.

Joey sees what most of the rest of us see . The post has long been biased towards our 6 fingered cousins . especially Tristan Cork . I feel for Dan the new man as its not really his fault but he has big shoes to fill after Frosty . The post get most of their news items from facebook anyway . We once for a laugh made up a story about a hyena being spotted near Clevedon and they went mad with it !! . Belters

maybe Joey and Ollie spoke about this already and that helped him.make his mind up The same Ollie who slagged off the club relentlessly in his Bristol post column, that Ollie? To be fair, he was mainly slagging off the inept Tommy Widdrington and his collection of NL acquisitions that had no strength and depth and it led to TW having a barb at Ollie in an interview. Since JAB came in, hes had nothing but good things to say.

Does anyone really bother reading anything rovers related from the Bristol Post anyway, I know I don't. Times have changed, there are other quicker more informative channels to get a rovers fix these days. Such as? Bristol World copy Bristol Live's articles and BBC News print an article about once a week, there are no local news sites regularly publishing Rovers related articles. The national press can't stand us because of who we appointed as manager. I can't see I've ever felt the match reporting etc was biased and the club hasn't helped itself as far as the stand is concerned. I get a lot more useful info from forums, blogs and Twitter than I ever see from Bristol Post. When Bristol Post Sport rehash most of what is on here anyway I dont see how they are still relevant.

Maybe it's just a bit of 'Seige or 'Us Versus Them' mentality to try and get the very best out of the team. Jose Mourinho is famous for it, Alex Ferguson the same. If the celebrations when Macca scored against Charlton are anything to go by, then the team spirit amongst the squad seems to be great. I don't think there's anything to see here.

I guess a cynic could argue, refusing to speak to local newspapers forces people down the route of signing up to his premium communication service... How long before he stops speaking to bristolrovers.co.uk I wonder?!

I wonder if he's annoyed they're scuppering his subscription service, by posting articles about his tweets after he releases them to his loyal followers?

You only have to scroll down to the bottom of the Posts homepage and you'll see the following: Traffic & Travel, Bristol City Fc and UK & World News. We were taken off a few years ago from the homepage.

Just look at their web site. Bristol city always comes before Bristol Rovers in the menu. Yet they'll conveniently hide behind the cover of alphabetical order.
I think Joey does have a point. The way the teams are discussed. With City it is always a serious business tone whereas Rovers it's always a patronizing, rag bag, plucky under dog and not so relevant tone. Not the biggest of issues in the world but it is true.

Think it's only a matter of time before 'news' papers become extinct as a physical publication. They themselves are continually promoting and offering incentives to switch to online versions. When you think that at one time the Evening Post printed 3 or 4 times a day and now it's down to a shadow of it's former self, so many other ways to access the latest news now a days. On the very rare occasions i do buy a Post i am usually disappointed by the content. I used to find the Plymouth based Sunday Independent a better read on Local football. As for this story well the relationship twixt clubs and local press has always thrown up conflict ,it's nothing knew what ever level your club is at, the usual JB bashers will use it as stick to beat him with, a lot more will say good for him and most won't really care, as for me well i do miss the' GREEN UN' and Robin Perry, but have got over it now.!
