Abysmal And yet if that was Hoole was made that mistake Hunt did for the goal today (chesting it for some reason instead of clearing) then he would have been crucified. The same happened with one of the goals last week too, Hunt runs the ball into traffic gives it away in the middle of the pitch and Wycombe broke and scored in the space he’d left. Less the chest, more the lack of reaction from anyone stood in front him to take control of the ball. |

Abysmal Woods was a competent defensive midfielder but like Coutts and Whelan lacks pace. Hunt good, but any did not deliver much more the Hoole. Evans dis a couple of good things and made a couple of mistakes. Collins had two of our four shots but looked tired most of the game. No pace and no guile from this team........ |

The usual pair (Topper and the Gulf lass/lad) trying to antagonise people are posting again tonight then. So sad.
Anyway, we deserved at least the draw and there are clear signs that we will "click" soon.
Glad to see Finley have a half decent game, because of the freedom Woods gave him. (What a signing). Again, Luke Thomas was magnificent and ditto Hunt.
Why Joey starts Anthony Evans on the bench is beyond me though. He's young, fit and can happiness a menace for 90 minutes.

NOT there today, listened to radio Briz while driving, it sounded like we played well first half and bit unlucky not to be ahead, Collins prominent as was Thomas ,Brown, Hunt , Woods, decent point considering , out of radio range second half so no comment, by the way i thought the lady commentator was very good.

UTFG 🏴☠️ Agree with Woods, think he provides the security which let Finley play with slightly less responsibility. Bogarde too was making some breaking runs into the box in the first half too, just missing that final ball again. Hopefully they find that again soon. An Evans or even a fit McCormick would like playing in front of Woods I think. |

The whole style of play/approach has to change. We’ve been found out inside 3 games. Just let us have possession because we have no idea what to do with it. Today was like watching the exact same phase of play over and over and over. Draining Barton overthinking it. Trying to get us to play like Man City in L1. Generally we've got the personnel on paper - performances and results not acceptable thus far. If we can just try to be a bit more direct - not saying long ball, but just playing it forward with purpose - I think we'll see big improvements. After terrible traffic on the M4, just got back. What can I say? The two home games I have watched live were a repeat of the home games I watched after December 2022. It's pedestrian keep ball where we run out of ideas or attacking options once we cross the half way line. The only outlet appeared to be Thomas and Hunt on the right, good players and a cut above anyone Lincoln had. But why are we playing Thomas on the right wing when he is forced to cut inside to his left foot? It just slows everything down. And then we play Collins wide left....it's just incredible. The result that was another turgid performance inflicted upon us by the way Barton sets the team up and the tactics he imposes on the team. This is a bloody good squad, but the potential is not, so far, being realised by the way we play, which is down to Barton. Is it three years at the end of this year? Take away a 5 month purple patch mostly due to one man (Elliot Anderson) what has he achieved? Relegated in his first half of a season, promoted due to one half of a season, 17th last season and a dreadful 2nd half of that season and currently 17th on the back of turgid football and dreadful home performances so far this season. In the meantime the club has, to quote Boris Johnson, spaffed several million pounds against wall. Hopefully he will turn this around, it's only September, but if I was the new owners I would thinking of asking some very serious questions. Time will tell, but increasingly that time is starting to look borrowed. |

Barton joined in February 2021, so didn't have half a season, and also had no transfer window to change personnel. |

Its worrying when our best attacking player by some distance yet again was our right back hunt. Whilst vale looks a bit raw understandably for his age he did more In the 15 or so minutes he was on than Collins did all game. He has to start ahead of him soon. I'm perplexed by Collins how his form really has nosedived into oblivion. Bloke has zero confidence. Doesn't run at players anymore is always looking to offload the ball but gives it away time and time again. Oh by the way your right about woods. Bearing in mind that was him not fully matchfit or match sharp yet as well. Bloke is a baller and will get better and better. One thing I would add is crama nearly cost us the game again at the end with 2 pieces of awful defending. I'd bring Taylor In for him next league match. |

I wasn't saying that he played well, just that he was visible, and there were a couple of positives. I think he needs to go on the bench, and hopefully get his confidence restored with some super sub appearances. |

That felt like a rerun of so many of our recent home games, lots of possession without ever looking hugely threatening then managed to concede a soft goal after looking in absolutely no trouble up until then. As soon as that goes in they can sit in and let us play in front of them.
I can understand the frustration when we're still passing sideways with time running out but the truth is I don't think this side can play any other way. If we'd gone direct their centre halves win everything and the ball comes straight back at us.
On the plus side we kept going and got a deserved point, really pleased for Josh Grant after all his injury problems.
Having a bit of a break from the league is probably a blessing, imo a couple of weeks on the training ground benefits us more than another game next weekend.

UTFG 🏴☠️ i doubt DB got upset because I asked if we'd won 3-0 given his high assessment of half of our players? What did LT do to warrant being classed as magnificent? We've gone full circle back to BG football where we never even test the opposition goalie. If I was a Lincoln fan I'd be gutted they that managed to throw away a 1-0 win when we only forced their goalie into a decent save in injury time in the second half before conceding from the resultant corner. Cox won us the point with two decent 1 on 1 saves and the usual forum hate figure, Grant, with a powerful header for his goal. |
