Just got back...
Another amazing day with some of you on a genuinely hilarious moments football day out.
Nice to see JK too on his routines....I hope you didn't forget to bring your sunglasses. I had to swerve into Mem with some of you, the £5 soda and lime certainly DID NOT highlight the day. A disgrace.
Anyhoos, moving on to less important things:
Let's get the elephant out the room first:
My opinion only, anyone whom let's and waits for deadline day to arrive at the last hour, then moans about not acquiring their prized asset without looking at themselves first, is foolish, deluded or insane, or possibly all 3.
There's 4 parties.
Buyer, Player, Agent, Seller.
You've got the whole summer....if jch wanted it, it would have been done before. Sack the agent. Walk away from the deal if too much or messing around with price. But whatever you do is protect your assets.....you need a striker, no plan b implementation...? That encompasses of all 3 virtues!?
The eggs in one basket proverb is older than all of us, hello?
....and such was an issue yesterday....we had and have no focal point in attack. Just as an option. If we need to go direct?
It's only the 2nd home league match, and already we've been worked out....let Rovers have the ball for their 71% possession on their own half, we'll get the first goal and they won't be able to break is down if we remain resilient and organised.
Same match as Wycombe, less chances.
Some good individual performances, but we're not as slick yet as a team as we have been in past, or as on paper dictates.
Well done josh Grant, that been a year in coming....good on ya son!? Patient and tenacious. Another 20 more of that, and I'll eat my words..
.... because when the ball gets crossed in, who's the hairy a$$ed centre forward 3rd division bruiser to get his swede on it? (perhaps we should adopt a no crossing policy?).
Nice performances from the keep today. Some smart saves and is growing in confidence.
I liked Wilson contribution. And, Friend.
But our catalyst was Evans introduction....he was more creative than anyone, could possibly have scored with a beast of a header (the irony, because he usually assists those sorts of opportunities) and assisted the equaliser..
My m o m in waiting.
LM worked hard and hard.....he was defacto m o m but giving him the ball and little or no movement around him forces him to sideways and back, or take on 6 opponents and ultimately lead to nothing or loss of possession..
Something's happened to Finley. One great challenge, many other frustrated with himself as much as us passes going astray etc.
Bogarde forgettable didn't help.
Woods debut probably the best of a poor mid.
Something continues to happen to Aaza....a nice try first half we actively encouraged - shot wide from distance - but after almost several chances and on the back of last season - patience is wearing thin.
JM on, meh.
Vale on even more meh, although at least he took a shot from outside bot on target..... hallelujah!?
Darren Ferguson says jch was on his way to Bristol as the club had got their paperwork completed, so they done their bit...I believe him.
He also said "easy on the eye football" isn't always going to be for them as it doesn't win games in this division... I'm inclined to believe him.
He also went on to sign 2 preferable replacements and get organised as jch isn't the only jewel in the crown... I definitely believe in him.
I don't know if he's a better manager or not, but if things don't change soon, by the time the next transfer window opens, I'll wager they'll be higher than us in the league....?
At least at end of month we'll see and know more as we meet each other!
