That's a bad injury. What's the latest with Conor Wickham?. A big target man experienced scored a few in div one last year in a poor FGR side.

I'd grab Chris Martin on a few month deal.

People thinking buying a striker will make any difference are missing the point. Barton has already built a side more than capable of getting a top 6 finish but he’s holding that squad back with ridiculous tactics. He either needs to understand what this level is about and pronto or move on.

Chris Martin is very much the sort of strong player Rovers need to hold the ball up, bring others iñto play and he has a good scoring record at a higher level.

Everyone knows about Connor Wickham's historic injury problems, but in terms of natural ability there is probably no better realistic free agent. He made a good impact last season in a poor FGR side with 9 goals in 20 games, including a header, a goal from half way line and ones with left and right foot. His goal away at Lincoln was a classic CF goal. Receiving ball into feet inside box with his back to goal, he uses his body to screen the defender and strength to hold him off before swivelling to finish with right foot into the top corner. Elsewhere the goal in the FA Cup from half way line was just sensational. Worth a contract until January and just have to hope he stays fit during that time. gaschat.co.uk/post/942791

Bit of a left field option, but a 25-year-old former Argentina U20 (10 apps, 7 goals) international called Marcelo Torres might be worth some consideration. Attachment Deleted

If that's the case if a striker doesn't then help the owners then have a decision to make on whether JB still remains our manager? Last season Coburn clearly helped until at least the turn of the year.

Injury history is a concern , but isn't that a Rovers trait? Worth a go...

I'd give him until Jan, we have surely learnt about injury prone and long deals

I would 100% go all out for Wickham. Just until Jan and go from there. If it's working out then we can look to extend. If not - or it is for us but he wants out - then the window will be open and we can look elsewhere. Surely there's no way he'd want as much as JCH in wages, and that's before even factoring in the rumoured £800k we've just saved on the transfer fee. He undoubtedly knows where the goal is which is what we are missing. If he gets injured, then it is what it is. But with him only offered a contract until Jan - and us being £800k better off anyway - there's minimal risk surely.

Lyle Taylor apparently looking for a Championship club but hasn't found one yet and I doubt many other L1 clubs have a spare few £K to spend on a striker after the transfer window's closed?
