They seem to have recruited well and new players have hit the ground running. Good going considering the key players they lost in the summer. Why are we always the team that takes months to 'gel' What I genuinely think is different right now is that we are playing well and retaining the ball, we haven’t managed to click in the final third and haven’t got the chance creation right yet. But overall, I think we look a good side with real potential. If we can just get that bit improved, I think things will get very interesting very quickly. We aren’t far off. The issue is that we'll never "click" when we have to rely upon JM to put the ball in the net, we totally lack a natural goal scorer. Perhaps AC will find his shooting boots again but it's now getting nearly a year since he lost them. |

JM's not scored regularly for around 3 years, I seriously doubt he'll return to being the 15+ goal scorer we clearly need. When you look back at JM's goal scoring record apart from a couple of season's when he was at Doncaster he's never really been a prolific goal scorer. |

We have Aaron Collins and Jevani Brown in the side, both scored for fun in L1 last season and probably carry a 1m+ price tag! |

JB was valued at £250K when Pompey almost signed him before news of his assault case broke. You do wonder if AC is now worth a great deal more based on current form.

not long before an announcement i'm sure, but as far as i can see, our alternative has not been mentioned on any of these threads! Any update on this? Seems to have gone quiet, anyone got any further info? Perhaps, unless something has already been sorted, with Marquis and Collins opening their accounts it may have been put on hold? |

Gone quiet on what, there's been no indications from the club they are considering signing a free agent. JB's post match presser seemed to indicate the squad was now complete. |

We are short cover at no9 but i think they are happy to leave with JM, Azza and Brown with all the attacking support until Jan now.
Also think we are one short at CB. With no Connolly, do we only have 3 for 2 spots? I know Gibbons, Hoole and Grant can play there, but wouldn't really be happy with that as cover in the league!
Also, slightly off topic, I do expect 3 CBs to be used sooner rather than later. With Wilson-Taylor-Crama in their most natural positions.
Hunt could be a RWB, not sure we have a out and out LWB tho. Maybe Sincs or Gordon.

This means we are back to just 3 strikers Collins Maquis Brown. Who would risk any of these 3 in a minor cup competition?. The last time we had just 3 strikers ( Hanlan Nichols Agunga) what happened ?. If Sinclair is out; having lost Loft. Then we certainly need a free agent striker!.

We only had 3 strikers for a big part of the season because Jaydon Mitchell Lawson returned back to his parent club. I'm sure one got injured and we were down to 2 fit strikers. If Sinclair is out ( unconfirmed). Then it is a big gamble to go with 3 strikers for the next 3-4 months. |
