I wasn't feeling to bullish about today's game but I've just listened to the Not The Top 20 Betting Show podcast and they reckon we could get goals today. Apparently Wigan have the worst xGoals from open play in the league and have had the 2nd most shots against (93) this season. They're betting on Collins to score after getting off the mark v Shrews, one if the guys even saying he's going to have a sneaky few quid on a hatrick! So 3-0 to Wigan then lol. Fair play to them, not a bad shout

Well wouldn’t ya know it😍💙
An excellent first 45 followed by a total domination of the match, could/should have been 5 or 6.
Nice to shove it into Dyke who wanted to celebrate in the East Terrace with us after helping on their only real shot of the entire game.
Weird atmosphere before hand once the line up announced, no worries there as we had 11 + MOM’s on the park. Fantastic performance, great atmosphere and finally the home hoodoo put to bed in style.
Also, that ref?😂🤣Where do they get them
Up the Gas, Up the Percy! Bring on Posh!

This bloke on Sky sports Saturday who replaced Jeff Stalking is about as useless as a chocolate fireguard. For two weeks following he has ignored Rovers. Maybe he is a ted. I noticed that last week for both our goals against Shrewsbury.

Well that was enjoyable wasn’t it! Not just the best performance of the season but of the whole year! I thought we had no chance today so I’m glad that my prediction ended up being very wrong!

Never saw that coming. We were overdue a home win but I didn't think it would be that emphatic. Wigan are no pushovers, but today we couldn't be stopped.
Hope the travelling fans have a safe trip back to the grim North.

The last time I saw Rovers play this well against Wigan was when we beat them 6-1 in 1990. Performance today much like that one. Was at that game. One Billy Ocean! Over 30 years ago? Say it ain’t so. UTG!

Refereed at their old Springfield Park ground years ago.Had not been there before so simply followed the roads to the floodlight pylons that could be seen from Mars.Relieved to get there the statutory 90 minutes before K.O. only to find it was the rugby League stadium.

Lots of possession from us Boring play with attacks breaking down in final third, maybe 3 shots at goal. Wigan to score the only goal late in the second half. Meltdown Calls for Barton out. Mystic Meg

Over 30 years ago? Say it ain’t so. UTG! I was there ! That was the only game I missed that season. My mate persuaded me to go and see Port Vale v Swindon which ended 4-3. This is the first game I've missed this season, so maybe I should stay away more often.

Well what an excellent performance, all over the pitch we were excellent, thought big John or Finley would get man of the match, but jack was impressive.
Must say dont really understand the rules anymore the fouls on Azza Luke and Cox looked obvious as pushes, not even shoulder to shoulder.
We don t enjoy many wins at home, so enjoy your evening everyone UTG

I thought we were outstanding today right through the side, when it's near on impossible to pick a mom you know it's been a proper team performance. The most pleasing thing for me was the way we reacted after the equaliser, 99 times out of 100 that's given as a foul, we came back brilliantly and pretty much dominated the rest of the game. Credit to JB and the players, I'll admit I feared for us a bit when I saw the line up but what do I know !!

Home early after negotiating the car park better for once ....
What a cracking game ... Must admit I totally got that wrong at 2pm when i saw the team...
Anyway here are our marks ...
Cox - 7 ... Pretty faultless - good punching under pressure from the gorilla Wyke, distribution a different class from the midweek keeper.
Vale - 7 Very good full debut and put in an excellent shift at LB
Taylor - 7 Won most things in the air and scrapped hard - distribution getting better
Grant - 8 Excellent at CB - Distribution brilliant and fought really well in the air - Would cement him in there now.
Hunt - 9 - Love this guy!! Quality throughout and a goal + an assist to Big John.
Finley - 8.5 I have been his biggest critic but today he was outstanding - led by example - terrific in the tackle and had a few shots at goal as well.
Evans - 7 - Got kicked throughout but another really good hardworking display and drove us forward
Bogarde - 7 Seems to take some time to settle into games but some nice touches and worked hard
Thomas - 8 Excellent performance capped with a nice goal
Collins - 7 Worked hard - created chances and got a deserved goal
Big John - 7 Worked hard - got pushed and shoved and a cracking header for his goal
Subs - Collective 6 - No one really stood out but did enough to see out the game
Joe Barton - 7 Well I thought he had got the selection wrong but what do i know ? Josh Grant at CB and Harvey Vale at LB was inspired - Clearly told the boys to shoot more this week and it paid off.
Referee Team - 5 - Very poor at times and some of his decision making will have made the assessor weep!!
Fans- Strong 7 - Noisey at times and supported well - Loyalty rewarded today
Wigan - 5 - Looked really good in the warm up - really good. I thought we would struggle against Wyke + Aasgaard but wasn't he case.
So a thoroughly enjoyable game - is this the sign of things to come - we shall see
Certainly taught me that we have more strength in depth than I thought
Have a great weekend everyone.

Brilliant result , who says we cant win at home ( Cheltenham in the pizza cup aside )
2 league wins in two now , please no more injuries , and lets carry this consistency forward.
Anyone know how the 82ers got on?
