Disappointed by JBs comments, Luke Thomas has been one of our better performers so far this season. No need to throw him under the bus like that.

I find it strange that JB has singled him out, especially as we lost 2-0 rather than 1-0 (or did I miss a goal?). Also, listening to that for the first time I do wonder if there is something else going on with LT? The fact he said Sort his life out, suggests to me that there is something else going on. This isn't just about coming back on in the 2nd half. |

I have been a huge supporter of Barton, but comments like this should be kept in house.
There is no need whatsoever to talk about players like this.

There’s no 4D chess or cleverness going on here. It’s Barton being Barton. Cant take any blame himself so throws someone under the bus.
Those that will never admit JB is in the wrong will just continue to deflect by having a go at the other side for always being anti. I try and be fair, but always call him out for this stuff.
He’ll never manage at a higher level.

Yeah he's realy chompin at the bit isn't he? If true you can understand JB's anger , if your injured bail out and let someone take your place , especially if asked twice. Why be the hero , when your actualy doing more harm to yourself and the team.
But ,on the flip side , (and I know this is what JB does) , just keep it in house , LT's still gonna hear the same words , so why should we? Did he realy think this was the reason we lost ?

Barton makes a bunch of controversial statements and now we're talking about those instead of a performance where we were comfortably beaten. Purposely target one of the players who would be in the discussion for player of the season so the fans immediately come to the players defence.
Some would call that smart management.

I didn't think we were comfortably beaten. We had a goal ruled out, their first was a deflection. Brown hit the upright, Collins was through on goal with only the keeper to beat. I think we were unlucky, which makes it even more strange that JB has come out with this. |

JB has every right to be annoyed if he thinks the player made a mistake playing on when he maybe should have come off, though what player hasn’t done the same while he still thinks he can contribute. What I have an issue with is Barton publicly shaming his players in the media. It doesn’t help anyone and frankly its embarrasing.

😂😂😂 Odds on LT starting Tuesday and putting in a match winning MOM performance. Love a post match forum reaction I’ve just listened to what he said , it’s a bit harsh but I think he’s right . This is professional football and LT should have been honest . Looks like it cost us a goal ( I didn’t watch , just radio ) . It’s a team game not about individuals. Absolutely. I was too busy to listen to the game today let alone even watch it and when I was able to get some respite I was surprised to hear that JB had been hanging LT out to dry and talking of moving him on. Listening to him there I don’t think you could disagree with what he has to say. Should it be said behind closed doors? Probably. But he has a point with what he’s saying. |

You really thought that based on performance we were well beaten? I watched a very even contest - the difference was we missed a sitter, had one cleared off the line and hit the woodwork. P’Boro no way outplayed us and got a very fortunate opening goal which changed the game. |

He’ll never manage at a higher level. Yes, I think that’s about it. Joey loves a drama and enjoys making headlines and will do it for the sake of doing it. He has someone to blame. But why doesn’t he keep it to the dressing room? Now this weekend all the noise will be about what he’s said rather than the game where although we lost seems as if we competed well. We’re still midtable, coming up to a month where there are lots of winnable games. Totally stupid to say this about one of our best players just as we seem to be stringing together some performances. As you say percy, it’s why I don’t think he’ll manage any higher unless he changes his approach. UTG! |

I agree and probably in his mind didn’t want to come off at half time and wanted to play on because he didn’t want to let team down and thought he could run it off given a bit of time . Seen lots of players try and stay on a football pitch but then have to admit defeat and come off , it just unfortunate it led to their second goal. |

I’m dont agree with all his comments, he’s definitely gone OTT. Also ironic him talking about players getting sent off for tackles, seeing as he made a career out of it.
But all of us that have ever been in involved in a football team one way or another (assuming most) know that different lads react better to different messages the way they’re delivered.
I’ve played with lads who have always needed an arm around their shoulder to perform better and to feel loved, and on the flip side (and me personally) some lads need a bollocking and to be outed to get a reaction.
Joey got a positive reaction out of Thomas the last time he bollocked him on radio, who’s to say won’t happen again.
