Absolutely. Completely agree. If LT is being anything than the consummate professional then JB has a shout, as he has done previously. But saturday was inexcusable IMO. Slightly disagree. Even if LT is less than the consumate professional as a player, then Barton is even less than the consumate professional manager he is paid to be, by his very actions over the result of one game.

knows likkle tubby Lee Johnson always touting him as a god of football knowledge Attack the post please. I'm in no mood for someone trying to start a squabble today and ill just remove you for a few days if you carry on and that goes for everyone else. I’m not offended, it’s all banter and to think Johnson v DC Tuesday night, both really at clubs now with smaller fan base’s than Yeovil when they were in Div1. Someone said they think we have pace still, in my opinion they only had to see us Saturday against Peterborough’s pace and break on attack. Sinclair can’t stretch a defence, Evans can’t, Marquis is in quick sand, Martin has no pace, Brown and Vale have average pace and don’t go past men, none of the full backs have true pace bar Hoole. No one can do a Lines run breaking forward. Our only offensive pace is Luke Thomas and Aaron Collins and the later doesn’t seem to hit the byline anymore and cross into the box. People forget in Div2 we had Sammy Nicholson and Anderson running at defenders with pace, we have never replaced these and again Harry Anderson could go down the outside. Pace is Jones Saturday, we don’t have Ogogo/Hayles/Roberts/Ellington/Hoskins pace upfront to run the channels and stretch sides.

Interesting article on the real Efl website basically saying Joe is almost in the same situation as Karl Robinson was, squad good enough for top six, and we are underperforming.
Big 3 months I think.
I was fully behind Joe, still am to a point, but he needs to look at his own performance, before belittling players who have undoubted talent.

I’ve left it until after the weekend to post, to be honest I was too incensed to post after what happened on and off the pitch. We were the match ball sponsor Saturday, some know I print a lot of football programmes and part of me deal with PUFC is to take a table every season for one game. I took a table of 10 Gasheads, the likes of Nick Hibbs, some will know from his Twitter presence running the poll result for every game and Adam who contributes a lot on the Radio Bristol phones in. We had a balanced table of opinions, from mine deemed a negative input at times to the rose tinted Hibbs, we were all united it was a poor showing by Rovers and questioned Barton’s tactics. Many have said on here, first 20 mins very good, fell apart, no Plan B, all calling for Sinclair, Macca and Martin to be put as we had no pace on the pitch whatsoever. £3.5 million plus budget for a slow squad, we simply can’t break or take the ball upfield bar Luke Thomas and no one mentioned him re the game, why would we? Totally and utter systematic bullying, he missed a chance at ACCY and was ridiculed, compare this to Collins Saturday! Luke tracks back at a greater degree than Collins, the lad is being bullied by Barton to an unacceptable level. Ange at Spurs on the weekend reminded the media of the mental health of players and the player question Richarlison. Thomas has been known to struggle with this, imagine if Barton had a suicide on his desk this morning, did anyone see the Dele Ali interview? Simply I want Barton gone, my 12 year old nephew who came Saturday text messaged me Saturday night asking why the manager is like this? We went pitch side after the game, no one really around bar Ferguson with BBC Cams and the media with mics in his face. To his side was JB and the 10 management team, he was irate ranting away to them, some input from them whilst Tom Gorringe was with them intently listening in, I hope he reports back to the new owners this morning. Peterborough United we’re nothing Saturday, our fans sang is it a library, it was, nothing of a game with a manager with no idea of what to do to turn it in our favour. Luke Thomas wasn’t to blame, Hunt was given the run around all game by Jones, the lad is obviously a Championship player. We met Ferguson before the game, he came to our table, he was in rush as the game was only 45 mins away, his mind was elsewhere which was obvious. But credit to him, he apologised for his midweek outburst to his team and club via the media. Ours won’t this week, Darrell Clarke used to say he rolled the dice and got it wrong, it’s never Barton’s fault, NEVER. I believe he’s done himself a lot of damage with this latest interview, the fan base know he was wrong, the owners will know this as well, only wins save this man, the screw is starting to turn and it seems Joey Barton has the screw driver in his own hand. Interesting take on the ‘slow squad’ comment. For me & plenty of our opposition to date, we are a quick/sharp and effective team going back to front in a counter attack. Won’t happen every single week of course, but certainly wouldn’t say we are a slow & laboured outfit. IMO. Sometimes we move the ball quickly but there is no pace with the players. They hit us on the counter and had 5 players attacking the pen area. We are lucky if there is one.

Spot on Quarters and it’s why we have no Plan B or C.
Invariably it’s straight swaps for like for likes which Martin is now for Marquis. Again Saturday, Marquis broke as last man, no one running next to him, caught and turns back. Evans broke, could feel being catched, goes for the long range lob.
We can’t take the ball upfield to give the defence a break and stretch the game.

Interesting comments. Win tomorrow and it'll be forgotten briefly. But if we are still struggling for form in another 10 games with outbursts from the manager then that could be it. Owners will be looking at Oxford and how their manager has built a team that seems ready to challenge at the top on what must be a similar budget? Excellent point percy , there are none more fickle than us footie fans ( most anyway ) . Our recent form hasn't been too bad , 2 wins out of 3 ,and we never win at
Posh anyway. A win at Vale ( achievable ) and we're looking up. My problem apart from JB being theatrical in public , is LT will now have x amount of games to
stew after this outburst. If his mental state isn't great that may be a problem. If he was called out but wasn't injured , he could have the chance to play a blinder v Vale.
Anyway , lets get that win at Vale. UTG

OMFG - why is Barton hanging Luke Thomas out to dry in public again FFS. Been away all weekend and got back to hear the interview, absolutely flabbergasted. How anyone could defend that is beyond my comprehension

How anyone could defend that is beyond my comprehension This is the problem these days with being away from it all for a short time. I'm still in shock and I shouldn't be as I should know better. Maybe this will be a turning point...

Saw today that the Daily Mail had picked up Barton rant and it was the main headline online.

Apologies, did you not say "attack the post" or some twee sh**e? OK then. I've not been captured or captivated by anyone and have a free mind. Thank you for your concern though. Have a lovely evening with yer Kleenex. 🏴☠️🤧 I’m not agreeing with the point. But it’s obviously talking about the players having Stockholm syndrome not you! I actually thought Joey had turned a corner this season. Seemed more Chill. Thought he’d grown up. Today is very disappointing. I'm glad it was clear to you and the Chuckle Brothers from the depressing forum. It wasn't to me. Sorry if that bothers. On a separate note, not seen anyone say Joey was right to do what he did, only a few saying that Luke should/could potentially have been more professional.

Yes he could have been more professional but give me any day a player who wants to play through the pain barrier over a Dominic Blizzard, Stefan Payne etc.
The poor lad obviously thought he was ok to play, he’s got pins in his leg from a double fracture, he got his “body” wrong, is that a criminal mistake to be called an idiot live to the world?

Here’s a simple question
Does anyone think the managers results in this division are acceptable for the players he’s had at his disposal? Since the turn of the year the results have been very poor.
Yea some of the football is okay but we are easy to play against and he is often out done tactically.

I still cant see how he played any part in their 2nd goal. Joey said LT pressed their full back, not really and was well away from him when he played the ball. Even if fit he wouldnt have been able to stop it happening. Blame Hunt diving in unnecessarily or the lack of any Rovers players to pick up the rebound from the keeper

Blame Hunt diving in unnecessarily or the lack of any Rovers players to pick up the rebound from the keeper No part at all in the second goal, it’s systematic bullying of the same players. Trevor Clarke, he was a victim several times. Belshaw has been a victim twice, Collins stripped of captaincy, Thomas victim now three times, he picks on the weak ones. Now look at Finley who misses 6 games plus a season on cards, Rossiter off the ball elbows, nothing said about them. In other trade and profession, his treatment of Trevor Clarke and Luke Thomas would be up there with Dominic Raab done for bullying. No higher up club is going to touch him, man management is one of the biggest things in football now with Championship players at the low end earning £8k a week. The players have all the control, it’s why Roy Keane and Souness had to walk away from management, they just couldn’t deal with the players.

The bloke is an embarrassment to the club.
He was an embarrassment before he joined us. And then some. He was an embarrassment when he got us relegated in bottom place. He was even an embarrassment when he got us promoted because he was embroiled in two assault cases, one of which was not resolved in court. Bet the lawyers were expensive. He has been an embarrassment since we returned to L1 with a big budget and an underperforming squad. He's an embarrassment when he blames everyone for any defeat. He even blamed previous managers for defeats under his tenure. The Luke Thomas episode was full on bullying. He's an embarrassment because of the way he reacts to authority. Every referee is against him. He's been banned from the stadium for his threatening and abusive behaviour towards officials.
We should never have appointed him. He'd done nothing when he came here and he's done nothing since he arrived, unless you call treading water an achievement.
