Awful decision. The whole point of these tournaments was it was held in one country , fans from all over the world travel and there’s that World Cup atmosphere everywhere.
Joke having it two continents 1000’s of miles apart , imagine trying to follow your team and the expense / time travelling involved.
FIFA are a joke.

Is this for real? why even bother having a host nation. To me all tournaments should be in a single nation. If you can't afford to host it then tough. what with the winter world cup, 48 teams etc FIFA are really arsing it up. What with international breaks etc I'm getting more of the mindset that we might be better without internationals at all.

Apparently will only be the first 3 games of the tournament in South America. As a celebration of the centenary of the World Cup with Uruguay being the first winners. Guessing none of the South American countries could put together a single or joint bid to host the entire thing?

All to do with TV money deals and cramming more teams into the competition to get viewing figures up.
They don’t care about the fans and how much this will hit the pockets to follow your nation abroad.
So much for going green too! A lot of air miles between those 3

on the surface it sounds bonkers but if it's only a few odd games in celebration then that's different, as a side looks like Euro 28 is coming to UK, whatever that entails.

The football world had the opportunity to reset when Sepp Blatter and his crooked cronies were brought down. They should never have been allowed to re-group and Infantino is no better than those that went before him.
I guess three continents all paying bribes is more profitable than one continent paying a bribe!!!

I wouldn’t expect that to be the case, the same way I expect the home nations to have to qualify when we host 2028. Five automatic places by default is way too much. |

There are 10 teams in CONMEBOL qualifying and now three will qualify automatically because of hosting one game - will they still play in qualification games? Otherwise their qualification tournament will be decimated.... ...how does the average fan petition the FA (? I guess) to reject this at the FIFA congress next year? |
