Ok So, in reality, just like everyone else. I guess the dividing line, if indeed there is one, you make statements as if they are fact without any references to source. Then you tend to compound this by (what reads like) sneering at those who offer a different opinion by using derogatory terms such as "Main Stream Media" whilst hinting that we are all stupid and are "sold a story". I think click bait is the generally accepted term. Now it turns out, despite your protestations, you are exactly the same as the rest of us, you just form a different opinion. Now we all have that straight we can move on. Like everyone else 79 chooses what he wants to believe. He just ‘thinks’ he has a better grasp on things than the rest of us . Perhaps But taking what he has said at face value, I suspect confirmation bias is in play. We all need to be wary of that, I know I have to check myself, almost daily. I ordered a new book over the weekend, The Chile Project press.princeton.edu/books/hardcover/9780691208626/the-chile-projectAfter I pressed the button I looked at my books bought over the years and thought to myself am I reading books that I already agree with BEFORE I read them (title/author) and is there a pattern, or common thread. I guess we are all guilty of it to a degree.

I do catch the news on occasion. I listen to the radio alot as I spend much time on the road. I look at twitter. Like I originally said, I haven't watched the news(hardly at all to be honest) on Israel v hamas, but I know the story. My opinions are based on personal experience, a grasp on how military ops work, how terrorist organisations work, convos with old mates. Stuff like that. I see the reports and see the bias. I see the reporters sewing a narrative. I know that there are occasions that what they tell us is not quite what is happening on the ground. After the exchanges on here yesterday/Saturday, I have tuned into twitter to see what sky and BBC are reporting. Looped info as always with reporters on the ground. I did find the interview with Natasha Hausdorf and the Israeli ex PM to be revealing. Check those out if you lot haven't already for a rare glimpse at our news channels inviting the 'wrong' guests. BTW and this isn't meant to come across wrongly, I stand by my comments on covid and have some experience with the current topic. I'm a bit tired of arguing the same style with the same people tbf. If RD thinks I'm a , that's cool, we are all different but very similar.. Amazing how you’ve arrived at that conclusion but I'm hardly surprised tbf. You speak for "the rest of us" but I don't see anybody else commenting from personal experience.(that's nobody's fault btw, its just the way it is, clearly) I only see references to the news and opinion based on that🤷♂️ If that's all you have, you are sold a story. You asked for a genuine response and I have tried to reply honestly. Pretty much everything I have posted on here gets shouted down by the 3 of you. The tirade of twitter links and news clips are embarrassing. Has all that sh**e been removed about the hospital yet for example, or is that OK? There's not much else to say tbh, most debates gets split left n right on here. I'm more than happy with my perspective on things and as long as you believe the stuff that you write then fair play to you.

I actually asked Pirate to not inundate this thread with endless Twitter links, we always end up with dilution when he does. I am interested in this "personal experience" as you hold that flag up often. What is this experience?

If RD thinks I'm a , that's cool, we are all different but very similar.. I saw the interview with Natasha Hausdorff, she ate Katya Adler for breakfast. However, she's not exactly impartial herself having a degree from Tel Aviv University and working for Lawyers for Isreal, so her interpretation isn't necessarily true either. The problem with Twitter is that bias, conscious or unconscious, isn't easily filtered out. Read past the headline and it's often worse than tabloid journalism. At least national broadcasters have guidelines and easily verifiable. Hey, I'm not qualified enough to say what a lawyer can and can't get away with saying live on TV. Take it as you will. Just mentioned it because she is an example of someone with the credentials to embarrass the BBC live on air with carefully delivered info.

It's who she represents...that surely disqualifies her as an "unbiased" opinion. Doesn't it?

None of us are qualified and what she said may well be true. However, in the absence of a genuine independent body, it's the Court of Public Opinion that matters and being able to sow doubt by just questioning reliability that easily, actually undermines the original point. All sides do it, including posters on here It would be nice to find someone as a voice of reason amongst this.

Not surprised, I don't think Sunak would state that if he didn't know for sure. At the very least the cause is undetermined so the initial headlines were misleading, causing great resentment and stoking tensions.

I loved this bit "He added: “It will rely on establishing more effective governance for Palestinian territories in Gaza and the West Bank, it will also mean challenging actions that undercut legitimate aspirations for Palestinian statehood.” In other words Palestinians are not allowed to vote for any group or person we in the West do not approve of. Goodness me.

I guess all our sophisticated tracking technology couldn't determine where the missile / whatever it was, originated from. But we can track a car and hit it on a sixpence.
