I have, during my life, wanted to believe that. Now I know it's not true. In the main the only people with any real authority in our system are those approved by an unelected elite. Step forward Boris Johnson, darling of the elite, supported by propaganda perpetrated by the media controlled (in the main) by the same elite. Local political parties are controlled from the centre. Anyone who puts themself forward is vetted and approved or not by that centre. I witnessed this first hand in 1998 with my interactions. The days of local people choosing their representative is just nostalgic memory. Plus ca change, n'est pas? 😱😂 So it seems. Hard to accept that I was a naïve optimist. |

Some bloke sat there with a crown and holding a globe (worth multiple millions) because others did it for 500 yrs and you’re proud of that ? 🙄 🇬🇧 Meanwhile we have thousands going to food banks. No wonder this country is on its knees I'd rather see "some bloke" with a crown on his head maintaining a 500+ year old tradition than seeing a 78 year old veteran being punched and kicked because he's selling Poppys.
