The BBC report says of the now ex Colchester supremo ‘After a 5-0 thrashing at Forest Green Rovers, he spoke of being determined to turn the club's losing culture around’
A losing culture that didn’t exist until he became the manager last March!

Leaving Swindle looks like his biggest mistake.
After the job he did here which was a disaster, you'd have thought he would have recognised he had something good there.

Think this is the last time we see him as a football league manager.

Think this is the last time we see him as a football league manager. Probably, but he’s being lined up to be Gareth Southgates replacement.

We were rudderless with BG.Even when he went on Rest due to a family issue fans welcomed him back with a fresh start but he had nothing about him .His press interviews were hollow and meaningless.

Maybe like Trolls someone may work out he's a very good coach but not a manager.

He took over on 2nd March from the previous fella who left to go to Wycombe after hauling them well clear of the relegation zone to probable safety. Ben has managed to take them straight back into the danger zone at lightning pace.
He of course managed an even more remarkable turnaround in fortunes here by taking a team 4th in league one headlong down the table only to be prevented from getting involved in a relegation scrap by the Covid suspension. He managed to pick up where he left off the following season though and virtually seal our relegation fate before he was released to wreak his talents elsewhere.
Managers with such a consistent record of turning a club’s fortunes around are very hard to find!

Managers with such a consistent record of turning a club’s fortunes around are very hard to find! When he left we were in a similar position as we are now, just outside the bottom 4, if he'd kept on picking up points at a similar rate we may have well stayed up.

Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story please FACTS. He took us from 4th from top to a hares breath of the relegation zone as quick as anyone could have possibly managed it. We could have appointed someone who set out to deliberately destroy the team and he couldn’t have done a better job than Ben.

If you’re looking for someone who wanted to deliberately destroy that team then looking in the directors box. Garner was hired with the remit of changing everything whilst we were 4th in the league.

He definitely managed it! Something like 3mins away from the longest run of games without scoring a single goal, only an equaliser at Bolton on a grim Tuesday night saved us further embarrassment on his watch.

Completely agree but the decision to go that way with the squad we had was beyond daft.
