The accounts are for the period ending June. So Tisdale exited in Jan 21. So that doesn't explain the increase between 21 and 22. The forum is over thinking it. Its more likely to be Wael than anyone else. Visa requirements could be the reason. As much as some want it to be JB, the chance of that being the person is very low. The chance of it being Wael is very high. It depends how the money owes is structured. If it’s monthly payments it’ll show in the following year as well. Whilst I agree that a cost that spans more than one year would be there. The amount showing owed would be 100% of the amount due in total, not just for that year. It would reduce over time. The fact that it has increased between 21 and 22 suggests that it is not due to previous managers (the increase in amount is certain, the amount at the start could have something to do with Tisdale but in my view unlikely). |

It's difficult to see how many could do any worse, that's for sure. Often you look around and think "what's available", but there's actually a good few out there right now I would bite your hand off for. Barton is a L2 manager at best - that's his level. Yes tactically it's probably still beyond him, but his contacts for players at that level get him across the line. At L1, they get you a decent enough squad, but without the tactical nous you'll get found out - as he has been. He thinks he’s managing top class players. We’re constantly trying to play a style of football that the players aren’t comfortable with. Collins game is all about pace and direct running but I can’t remember us playing with much pace or directness this season other than the Wigan game , Port vale and the odd 20 mins here and there. And I’m not talking about hoofing it aimlessly I’m talking about tempo. You can still play nice football if you move the ball quicker , ok you won’t make as many successful passes over 90 minutes but the passes you make will create better opportunities particularly in the lower leagues and that’s what our “Premier league” manager can’t grasp. Wasn’t there tonight but generally our football sends me to sleep. We’re a crap watch , I’m not impressed by having twice as much possession as the opposition like some are but I like to see us create clear cut chances by moving the ball in to situations quickly and putting the opposition defenders out of their comfort zone facing their own goal and making them rattled. That’s what works at this level. Barton needs to understand that or we’ll be closer to the bottom four than the top 6 at the end of the season. I think we have a pretty skilful squad for this league and we have looked amazing at times sadly not often enough. I think we all know there is a good team in there, but for whatever reasons injuries, poor form, luck etc. it isn’t happening. However they still look like a team with belief. So Im still optimistic that they will eventually click and we will see the Rovers that we all want to see. |

I’ve got to be honest I’ve never liked Barton for off the pitch reasons but I still don’t think there’s footballing merit to get rid of him yet. Injuries are hampering us and we don’t quite have the cutting edge up front to convert the chances we are creating. This has probably damaged our confidence, resulting in a sub par performance tonight. We’ve got home games coming up and a few games in hand. Marquis and Hunt will hopefully be back from injury, Woods will return from his suspension, which will improve the squad massively. Maybe Barton will give Belly another chance to redeem himself as well. Re-assess closer to January, budgets and expectations are high for this season so clearly being 16th in the league won’t be acceptable by then, but there is still plenty of this season left to turn things around. Axe, I just don’t see how anyone can say there is no footballing merit to sack him. It was atrocious tonight, no matter how you dress it up or blame the ref. He is talking about how the ref didn’t give the foul on cox and the penalty but Stevenage should have had a penalty too when Finley dragged down Reid (I think) but no one is talking about that. We were absolutely awful all night and quite frankly deserved nothing. The chances we created didn’t trouble the keeper at all. When it comes to the squad, he has a squad of players and all of them should be good enough to compete at this level. 75% of that starting 11 have either played with us in that division or played at a higher level than L1. No matter what team he has picked this year we have won 4 out of 13. It’s just not good enough for the money he has spent. As for the squad he’s signed, he’s spent money on some great players that can play if they aren’t broke or suspended but he signs the ones with poor injury and disciplinary records and then everyone is surprised when we are bereft through injury and suspensions. The final thing, utterly classless on the radio calling Evans a fat weeble. Yes Evans is a Banned word, he always has been, but Evans has won more than Barton with less money and is higher in the league with a smaller budget, I think JB is looking much more the arsehole tonight than Evans. I’m not saying there’s no footballing merit completely, an owner with less patience may have pulled the trigger by now. That first half was atrocious. Is it worthy of sacking him yet though? I just think that against Stevenage we were crying out for Jack Hunt’s experience, Ryan Woods calmness in the centre of the park and for someone like JCH or Marquis (I know he came on near the end) to put the ball in the net. Fact is we’ve been a bit unlucky and it’s making us look worse than we actually are to some degree. Of course you can also blame Barton for building a squad lacking in depth. I personally don’t want to see Hoole, Grant or Finley starting soon. There can be no excuses for tonight’s performance. Let’s just see what happens in the Northampton game. Expecting a big response and some of the underperforming players dropped. Hopefully Marquis can start and be a threat. On the final point, totally agree. His post match interviews have become an utter embarrassment to the club. Understand it’s hard for me to defend Barton when I dislike the bloke, I am just trying to look at it how I would’ve for Garner or DC. |
