All the part time supporters who refused to go because of Barton being in charge returning should raise attendences on the plus side. You honestly think they'll now turn up because Barton has gone? They won't. Keeping saying it doesn’t make it true Personally each fans decision is none of my business. Maybe you should care less. UTG

The only time this season I thought we looked half decent was away at Portsmouth, and Mangan and Wheelan were in charge!! ?? Exactly , in the past 40 odd years most of our success has come when we have given the managers job to people who have either played or coached at the club before becoming Manager. Gerry Francis, Ian Holloway, Paul Trollope , Darrel Clarke and even GC got us heading in the right direction. Need someone who knows the club it's players and how the club works . like to see Mangan and Whelan in charge, no harm in giving them a chance.

I'm very surprised and very disappointed. I believe he would have turned the tide. I hope the club don't live to regret this, the wrong appointment could lead to disaster this season. I hope this proves to be a real statement of intent and not a total bottle job. This post is a bit backhanded. The wrong appointment was already in post, I don't think any new manager will have as bad a record over the calendar year of 2024 than JB had over 2023. Time to get behind AM who is now in charge and any new manager that comes in.

Not surprised or disappointed. Tuesday night I personally lost hope. I look forward to a less controversial future under a new manager who can push us forward. Here begins the reckoning on who comes next. Opportunity to unite the fan base again

UTG Indeed Percy. I for one shall return to the fold now, I have been in the wilderness since Barton’s appointment, will now be back a regular COYB!.

No need for that comment really is there. Emotions are running high and some are feeling disappointed/upset that he has left. Just because you wanted him gone and are now happy dosent mean others are. Some people’s dislike of Barton was more important than their attachment to Rovers. I’ve supported Rovers for over 50 years since I was 9; in that time we’ve had some great managers and some that were absolute dogsh*t, but I never let my dislike or hatred of any of them stop me going to support my team and my club, even Buckle and Garninho (who I would’ve quite happily fed to the sharks). And before all the usual suspects start banging on, I’m not claiming to be a better fan or supporter than anyone else, just saying that Rovers are my club for life, but managers are temporary and I wouldn’t stay away from them just because I happen to take a dislike to whoever’s managing the team during any given week. Have to say I've been telling myself "I'll still be here long after Barton has gone" more and more as his reign has gone on. Says a lot really

Do you think our club has an identity then? I don't. Our club has changed because we are foreign owned with new people in within the last few weeks. Our players are a mishmash with many arriving in the last few months. How does our club work? It seems to be a bit of a mess tbh! Sort of fumbles from one issue to the next. So, I hear you, but unsure on the detail within the desire.

What have you been doing with your time which you will now drop for Rovers? I font think I could get a ST now because my Saturdays wouldn't allow it.

I have to admit, I am surprised to see this. Whilst I've not been happy with our performances recently, I had a feeling that he'd turn it round. However, give his backing in the market we are hugely underperforming.

So you think he's gone because of results? What were our expectations this season btw? If it was comfortable mid table, that was an easy one.

club identity, do you think many have that outside the Prem? I dont - Stevange went from Tisdale to Evans, not sure how that aligned to their identity

Results are not the (sole) reason he has gone. IMHO. Doubt we’ll hear the story from the owners. Sure we’ll hear from one side

What were our expectations this season btw? If it was comfortable mid table, that was an easy one. Well according to many it’s our best squad ever and Joey is a genius so I expected us to be challenging for top 6 but would have been content with top 10. Results this season are a continuation of last seasons poor form and there’s no signs of it getting better. His league one record has been much discussed on here the last few days and you can’t shy away from the facts that it wasn’t good reading. Delighted to have acted quickly on this and got him gone to give a new man or woman the chance to come in and asses the current team and identify what they want in January.

At least the owners are in everyone's good books today for unifying the fanbase.
Credit goes today to those of whom never stood by him fair play to you for holding on to your your principles

Shocked but like many I think the Steve Evans comments were the final straw, anyway he was a crap manager but he did have good contacts and an eye for a good player , sadly he lacking in any tactical nous and the only player I can recall him improving was Elliot Anderson.

Only one man for the job, Mr Warnock please. I’d like Rowett as my first choice but Colin can always be relied upon to get the best from what he has. I think it would appeal to Wael too

There's Rovers fans and there's Barton fans i guess.
I'm glad he's gone, I had such high hopes but he just didn't deliver

Just seen this. Not the right move if you ask me. Need to be really careful who we bring in. Thought the team were on the verge of clicking. Very disappointing and hope we don't live to regret this.
