Dan Hargreaves said Rovers are holding a press conference in an hour. Will be interesting to see what they say, and who from the club is actually present. [br It’s a pre Northampton presser, DH has since posted.

I liked his passion, which I don't think anyone can deny. He could also attract players to the club.
But I think we should be doing far better than we are and he didn't seem to have a plan B.
I didn't like the way he called out players, just did it far too much and some things should stay behind closed doors.
I think the next appointment is key to where we are now going as a club (cliche I know)
Cotterill or someone like that, would in my view, not show any ambition and question where we see ourselves in terms of current league position and targeted.
Why not aim high, they may say now, but might be attracted to the project (albeit the project has gone on for decades now 🤭)
One thing this will do, is hopefully being back those who felt they couldn't support. But what it also shows in my view is the ambition of the owners and the fact they arent willing to stand for substandards and everyone is accountable

Okay mate it’s never been said on here that he’s taking us up, is the best thing to happen to the club in years etc To respond to your original post, I don't recall anybody referring to him as a genius. (unless they were mocking his intellect) I do , does it really matter though? Expectation was high because he made it high. Hasn’t delivered. Good riddance.

Wael as woken up at last thank goodness Not Wael's decision to make. I’m amazed at how many seem to forget this. I’m Sure has a say but surely the majority shareholder makes the decisions

Andy Mangan on Having a Gas tonight. Pre match press I suspect Tweet said "reaction to Joey Barton's sacking", apparently AM was visibly upset.

Purely on nothing other than footballing reasons the time was probably right IMHO. Tuesday night was devoid of any atmosphere in the ground or any passion on the pitch. Everything just seemed rather laboured, a side going through the motions. All season we have been devoid of any nous when playing a team that are more physical, or engage very well in the dark arts of football. Wycombe, Lincoln, Cambridge and Stevenage all fall under that category.
The board and owners have invested heavily in players over the summer, and 17th after over a quarter of the season is a pretty poor return for anyone. We should not be looking down at those below us, I honestly think that the squad is capable of a serious play off challenge. I like the style of football Barton has brought in, but there is no heart or end product far too often this year? Throwing the likes of Belshaw and Thomas under the bus is not going to endear him to the dressing room, similarly running his mouth off about people like Steve Evans (admittedly a truly vile individual) is not going to help the club either.
On reflection I will be forever grateful for the spring of 2022, culminating in that Scunny game. But in the time in League 1, which should be the minimum expectation at Rovers at all times, overall the results have just not been acceptable.
So thanks and good luck Joey, I hope you can sort out those demons you have. But needs must, and the board now have a massive decision to make. Given their track record on the South Stand, Fruit Market and JCH signing, I’m not hopeful they will get it right.

Was fully behind Joe Barton and think this is a mistake (an entire side out injured and only just over a quarter of a season played is not a good time to make judgement).New hope always comes along with a new manager though so will also be fully behind the next incumbent as well.

Never forget our promotion with JB ever' never forget our promotions under DC either but, maybe its time to move on. We have a good squad but we have stagnated sadly. We now need a fresh perspective and a fresh start and go again.
I wish JB the very best for the future genuinely' I loved his drive and enthusiasm but Bristol Rovers live on.....mananagers sadly do not!
