Please no. Holdens record isnt inspiring at all even if he wasnt a City Manager. I dont think the board and Cotts would get on. Interestingly my cousin is now at Shrewsbury as Head of Recruitment and he has uncovered some of the mess left behind post Cotterill and its absolutely no surprise they got rid of him. Its a definate no from me. I have to watch what I say, I’m hammered all the time about a friendship I have with someone, Holden, NO As long as your pal isn't being considered for the job (please no), why not have your say?

If its Cotteril, Holden or Robinson I will be fuming!
Hoping we get pleasantly surprised (like a Eustace or an exciting manager from the NL) or someone out of the blue from abroad. Just not those 3. For gods sake.

The same people on here wanted Trollope out - Look how that ended up ! The same people on here wanted DC out - Look how that ended up ! The same people on here wanted Barton out - Lets see how that ends up ! Beyond belief that some are calling for Holloway and some for DC - Some think Cotterill would be a good fit - FFS people wake up ! This could be good sense by the Board or the biggest mistake since Garner - there are some very decent managers out there and some with not so good records who when they fit into the right club will do very well. I get to the Mem early on match days and watch the warm ups etc - good to see some of the managers really close with their teams. I truly cannot see is prising someone out of role and fully expect it to be someone out of job - As a few have said earlier whoever comes in will be inheriting a decent squad but I will not be surprised to see some loanees sent back in January potentially unless they really up their game - Watch the backroom gaps start to appear as well - Many will leave when a better opportunity arises and if Barton does go to somewhere like Tranmere then they could go on mass. As for my choice of manager it would be someone like Chris Wilder / Dean Smith but I am delusional I know - I fully expect the Cowleys to be right up there in the interview mix, along with Dean Holden. This. Beyond belief that some are calling for Holloway and some for DC - Some think Cotterill would be a good fit - FFS It is worrying... DC reached his limits here and walked away. Holloway is a great speaker nowadays. Cotterill and Holden, Jesus wept.

One I think might be worth a look is Ian Murray at Raith Rovers.
Did pretty well at Airdrieonians getting to two League One Playoff Finals before moving to Raith, currently has them second in the Scottish Championship not far behind big favourites Dundee United. Has come back from previous knockbacks with a poor spell at St Mirren earlier in his career. Also a nice move from a Rovers formed in 1883 to a Rovers formed in 1883.

Can I put this out here, whoever is appointed can we give them a fair chance and not write them off, a few saw the JCH signing as a disaster.
This will be an important appointment, as Joe's fans will be frothing at the mouth, I didn't want him initially, grew to like the enthusiasm, and desire to give us our day in the sun.
Didn't like his school boy derision of LT, and other clubs and managers, let's stay classy Gas.
The home form since January was dire, can t make away games as watch my son play, the football was entertaining but results not great.
I hope we get this appointment right, but everyone is a gamble Graydon and Atkins looked good on paper, Garner was an interesting left field appointment.

Claude Makelele? Could be an interesting outside the box appointment.
Believe Wael knows him a bit, he’s watched a Rovers game from the directors box in the past.

Can’t believe Holden is even being mentioned. Irrespective of his City past, he’s had two jobs and been sacked after a few months in each of them. Could do a lot worse than Cotterill in my view, but the hard of thinking brigade would never support him.

I said several days ago now that my worry with sacking Barton is who comes in to replace. All these names are absolutely awful. None are better than Barton.
He was mid way to building this club up from rock bottom so the appointment needs to be someone with the long term aim in sight to continue the progress we have made.

I could understand if we were progressing but we weren't. I wasn't totally against Barton but he got longer than most managers get these days and you can bang on about long term progress all you like but at the end of the day it's a results business and ours were not good enough. At the end of the day he's been heavily backed and we're not much better off than when he took us over (position wise). Squad wise we are though IMO.

For me should be: 1) Darrell Clarke Then... Dave Challinor Darren Ferguson Paul Cook John Eustace Hmmm, DC? Has a returning Manager ever been a good idea?
