No Toppergas he did not fail this season. The owners failed him This season lasts until May and I am still convinced he would have turned it around But lets forget that now and just get behind the new man.

He told the truth in a way like Boris or Trump. His spending on players was not great. Taylor looking good value, but what of Connolly, Macca, Loft, Rossitor, Clarke? What of Clarke getting a 2 year deal then shipped out. Best squad? How many set to leave at the end of season? How many of the squad would command a fee? No striker, JCH the only one on the planet available? I'll get my Crystal ball out and let you know how many will leave at the end of the season, how the hell do I know, yes I remember people during the summer saying announce promotion now when we were signing these players, obviously you didn't, have you ever thought about being a manager yourself, think you will be really good, it's very easy in hindsight Well 5 loanees will leave, and at least 5 more players out of contract. Some of those are probably too old to be considered for another contract. So no real crystal ball required.

Nothing I saw convinced me he'd turn things around and I doubt the board would waste money sacking him and appointing a new manager if they felt he would.

Correct decision to let him go and get a proper leader in.

Every player and manager says the same thing at every club 🙄 Joey left us in the same position as he started . Hopefully the new guy can do better. Hate or love Joey, he left us in a much better position Has he? No scouting department, no director of football, Skelton coaching staff. It was built on sand and a house of cards that would always come crashing in the day he left

When JB joined we were a shoe in for relegation. Perhaps someone else could have got them winning but come the summer there was always going to be a clear out as the squad was diabolical.
JB left us with a good squad of players.
Matt Taylor is right. We don’t need to change individuals in this squad too much but we do need to get them winning.

Smacks of another Rooney situation. They are a few points off the play offs , the worlds gone mad

We go round a seemingly endless circle. Managers get us into League 1, get us competitive with players who brought us up, struggle to kick us on to the next level bringing in established league 1 players (Blizzard, Regan... then Payne, Bennett etc.), get sacked, quick turnover of managers while the club spirals downwards to relegation, and back to a league 2 rebuild. Even Holloway hit the wall when he went for established higher level players like Mickey Evans and Scott Jones over gems from the lower levels or younger players.
Barton may have broken that cycle but he is a cretin. Hopefully Matt Taylor will break that cycle.

It’s really that simple, you can have your opinion but you simply can’t argue with fact

Thankfully we have a game to look forward to later, maybe we can talk about that rather than constantly arguing about a bloke that left us 5 weeks ago. Interested to see how we set up and whether Taylor goes strong or uses the game to look at some of those who haven't been regular starters.

Agree mate - time to get behong the new manager and not bicker about the previous one
