Nathan Jones is still receiving his wages from saints. No chance we get him Thing is some people might be happy to just sit around and do that but I would imagine that he will want to get back into work rather than just pick up his payoff. He doesn't seem the type too. Yes the payoff might be good but for me if your a manager nothing beats being on the training ground and on the touchline. I understand what you’re saying but I’m certain he’ll be looking at , and get, a championship job.

For what it’s worth, (not a great deal) my top 3
1) Gary Monk
2) John Eustace
3) Ryan Mason
I’m not saying any are realistically available or would like to come, but these 3 would do me
Please no to Cotterill, Olly, Robinson, Holden.
I’d be encouraged if Whelan was assistant manager

Having dwelled on it overnight.
My preferences in this order would be
1. John eustace 2.leam Richardson 3. Karl Robinson ( only because I've ran out of ideas)

Give mangan and Whelan another 2-3 league games minimum. Nothing to stop the board interviewing and thus allowing them to take their time and consider all of their options. If the next two games were to bring another 4-6 points then give them a contract to the end of the season if they want it. Mangan just said on radio Bristol that we’ll see when asked about the job full time. I usually feel that clubs rush in to making these appointments and it’s so important to get these decisions right. We’re mid table the results have been ok , let’s see where these two can take us over the next few games and we’d have a better idea I think.

Fully agree mate, if they have one person in mind fair enough but if they are still abit unsure then no harm and I actually quite like AM, Proper football person. Get an older guy in to help who ideally would have played as a defender and/or an ex manager who doesn't want to be a number 1 anymore and it could just work.

Mangan seems very similar to Barton but without all the problems to me. I was worried we would play the same formation and same style and lose today which I think we would have because the conditions really didn’t suit tika taka But he went 4-4-2 , loads more width and we moved the ball quicker and probably should have scored more than two in that first half , the keeper made two great saves to deny us. We didn’t have as much of the ball granted but when that’s been the case this season we’ve won football matches which is the aim of the game. I think it would be silly to get someone in straight away as every appointment is a risk too quickly when our next manager / managers ( with Whelan ) could already be at the club.

End of the day, its the new money that’s come in. Same as any other club, Birmingham City classic example.
If we are lucky we will get a manager like Phill brown that’s prepared to drop a few leagues, or a Troy that thinks it’s a plan to play at a lower level.
To think we are in the Championship managers, is laughable. TBF I have always been in the JB camp. But I am really struggling to think of a manager that can move us on.
Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, we are a club that isn’t quite a temptation for a big name with no managerial kudos. Or go down the route of Tisdale, Garner.
Big call this one, who is attracted to BRFC. Journey men managers always around this level. Managers that put a great PowerPoint presentation together.
No idea, we are a confused club at the moment for a manager.
Just hope we get it right.

I’d have been up for giving Mangan a go but it sounds like the new owners want to go for it. Sounds like he’ll be moving on once the new manager is appointed.

QPR have just sacked Ainsworth. We could do worse than ask him if he is keen though I wonder if he is a one trick pony.

Where he is at in his career fits in well with where we currently are. He's done terrible at QPR but they were a mess when he took over and sometimes it's hard to turn that around. Nobody can question the job he did at Wycombe and he seems an honest, hardworking guy.

I confess to never liking him but much rather him, not sure why really, but much rather him than Robinson, Cotteril or similar.

And Cotterill is just not likeable and crap football. Albeit fairly successful during his career. I think the way Cotts likes to run club though is very old school.

Hussein talking about filling in the gaps at the Mem. Everything is contradictory. Ignore the stadium matter for a second and listen to the interview based on the thoughts around management. They weren’t happy with what JB was delivering as they were expecting at least top 8 and perhaps even higher given investment levels. They want to bring in a manager who has experience of managing at a higher level than L1 and ideally promotion out of L1 into the champ, perhaps even prem level management too.

Professionally he might be yearning to get back into management asap but if he’s got a wife, kids and mortgage why would he just throw away his family’s long term financial security to take a league one job on relatively low wages?
