Finley on Radio Bristol was saying that Mangan has said that there’s a chance he could get the gig if results go well. So I expect the club will hold on and see how he does before making a decision on the managers position. Seems like the fair thing to do 🤔💙utg

Perhaps it's just a good ploy by the owners, suggest to the players that AM's stand a chance knowing that they'll all give 100% as they'd sooner have him as boss than an outsider, then announce the new manager once they've interviewed all the candidates in a week or two? Although I'm surprised AM odds are so high, as if he wins the next two games it'll be hard to then bring in a new manager.

Perhaps if Mangan and Whelen do well , a Director of football to help guide them may be the way forward. ideal canditate may be Pearson. It worked well with Paul Trollope untill we got rid of the Director of Football and every fell apart. Perhaps we could get one in and if everything goes well keep him this time. What about Ian Holloway as said Director of Football? ? Apologies if anyone has already suggested this.

If I was a player some of the names mentioned would not fill me with confidence, a merry go round of journeymen, they know what what's with Andy Mangan, time will tell. UTG

They're hardly going to say he's not going to be the new manager but we need him for a few games before we f**k him off. I expect it's like Solksjaer at Man Utd. They don't plan on appointing him at the moment unless he makes the decision for them anything other than appointing him.

If we're throwing out names like Fowler and Terry, I'll chuck in Campbell.
Did an amazing job at Macclesfield keeping them in the league, despite late wages, winding up petitions and all the manic off-field stuff.
Went to Southend to try and do the same fire fighting job, working under a transfer embargo, etc. Didn't manage it and had a terrible record there in the end.
Apart from that, no obvious black marks to his name apart from being a bit weird, but aren't we all?

Decent interview IMO And more generally just really nice to see/hear from the new owners. Feeling better about things now in all honesty

I think 'some' responsibility for league position has to be aimed at the club for the JCH deal falling through, especially when we had let a striker leave.

I'm hoping they bring in someone new. I've nothing against Mangan at all, but he's associated with Barton and I'm hoping and expecting the owners will want fresh eyes on the squad. Mangan and Whelan both need managerial experience individually and in my opinion in a lower league. I'd expect us to do ok under them, but it would be a bit experimental, either that or they'd continue what Barton was doing which wasnt ultimately succeeding.
A new manager please, it would probably bring some upheaval and change, but hopefully can bring out the best in our better players
