I think we should follow the Plymouth model they promoted the assistant manager Schumacher and Argyle won league one last year. A team of Mangan,Whelan and now Bond should be given a chance as no other applicant really stands out

I think 'some' responsibility for league position has to be aimed at the club for the JCH deal falling through, especially when we had let a striker leave. If we'd signed JCH we would probably be in the play offs spots, assuming he hit the ground running, it looks like we might even do that now Martin has started scoring

Many of the potential managers have similar records. I would go for Neil Harris, did a great job at Millwall and he brought them some good cup runs , they played open attacking football. Gillingham got rid of him when they were starting to improve , probably a mistake.

You can see Wael is leading the manager search as demonstrated by the scattergun approach and lack of joined up thinking.

So Itv west are saying Holloway hasn't spoken to the club but Bristol post are saying he had? Are we going to be having a source off in the media?

I wouldn't go by win ratios alone Topper and I actually think Davidson did a decent job, but the linked managers' profiles swing wildly from one to another which is what I meant by joined up thinking. For once I was hoping we had a plan, but I should have known better.

I was against Robinson at the start and I'm not saying he'd be my first choice, but he's now looking like one of the better options in my opinion.
Although we beat them comforably, I was impressed with Chesterfield in pre season. They played some good football for a non league side and are currently top of the league. I don't think we've haven't been linked with any employeded managers but I wouldn't mind Cook.

Given Chesterfield finally look like getting promoted back to the league why would Paul Cook consider moving, plus you could see Chesterfield either telling us to do one or seeking massive compensation.

Nobody really knows if the owners are actually interviewing these guys or, if they are, whether they really think they are suitable candidates, it seems to me they are just attempting to make Mangan, or somebody so far unannounced, a popular choice!!

Ali Durden on BBC points west has just said that it won't be Ollie or Cotterill. Didn't say anything about Holden but said we have spoken to Monk, Robinson and Harris.

Robinson looks like the best option.
Oxford always done quite well

Robinson looks like the best option. Oxford always done quite well People will probably remember last season but if you look at his record he got them in the play-offs twice and in 2021 they scored over 100 goals. He is probably the one out everyone mentioned who would suit the current squad. Also I think the gascast post put out a tweet with all the managers who have been linked with what their PPG % is and he and Harris is at the top but he has managed the most out of the majority with if I remember correctly was 537 games which makes the record even more impressive.

If it's to be Harris, I'd like to see Tony Craig join the coaching team.

Harris over Robinson for me I think. Just don’t really like him. Maybe it’s the MK franchise thing. I reckon they’ll be trying to prise someone away from a current club. If they are willing to pay for JCH, why not?

If they are willing to pay for JCH, why not? We've not been linked with anybody now at a club, and if we were going down that route then surely we'd have identified him already and not messing about "speaking” to other potential managers? As Pirate suggested, we don't seem to have a target, given how long JB's been underperforming you'd have thought they would have planned ahead.

I have no belief that the club are being run competently nowadays. It's bad news and bad decisions on repeat. Why sack JB if nobody was lined up ready to come in. Why walk away from yet another stadium, any chance of seeing plans for the Mem or is it all to be made up building stands without permission. List goes on...but it is bit of a shambles.
