Wasn’t capacity a bit lower earlier in the season ? Oh, stop it with your so called facts! We had one temp stand for away fans against Lincoln onwards. The temp stand for home fans came into play for Wigan? Just from a numbers perspective, removing the first two games from the average will mean even more fans stayed away. I think Wigan is an interesting comparison. Wigan were in the Premier league for 8 seasons. So there will be people in their early 20's who grew up with Wigan as a premiership team. So you would think an attractive fixture. We had 8161 attend that game and I'm pretty sure we had both temp stands in use for that game. Yesterday was 8518, against what could be argued as a less attractive fixture. Were any of the reduced capacity games sold out?

Whatever the reason, the stats show our biggest home crowd of the season so far. It directly followed our lowest home crowd so far and it cannot be attributed to fair weather fans as the weather was appalling. I reckon many more stayed away due to Barton than folk on here realised. Perhaps they fudged the numbers to consolidate their decision. There were gaps all over the crowd yesterday so there was plenty of space. It was payday, people were intrigued, Barton factor probably raised a few eyebrows and generated interest though. I don't really have a strong opinion about the sacking or the new owners but I think it's quite difficult to fudge attendance figures these days, or at least significantly, especially if we are a cashless venue now.

So you are suggesting that the owners offered to pay more VAT on the attendance income, just to prove a point?

I had 100 mates who said they'd never watch Rovers under JB who went yesterday. PS Never believe anything you read on social media. Names ? 🤣

Names ? 🤣 "Never believe anything you read in social media"but believe everything you in the currant bun.. 😂 Gary Monk by a country mile for me if we are ignoring old boys like Warnock. A very impressive playing career at Swansea and promoted to save their Premiership status. Did that and led them to their highest ever finish in that league, 8th. In his own words all five of his clubs have been firefighting jobs where he was brought in with very short times to turn them around. His record under those circumstances is very decent and for the last three years has been involved in coaching courses all over the country. He has got to be the best cannidate out their and a non firefighting job might well appeal to him close to home. A strange article but if he is being linked with such jobs then why's he even going to consider managing a L1 side, surely a Championship side like QPR is his more likely destination in England? www.thesun.co.uk/sport/24304993/premier-league-garry-monk-andrea-pirlo/

So you are suggesting that the owners offered to pay more VAT on the attendance income, just to prove a point? Are you suggesting that attendance printed on the BBC or read over the tannoy, is what goes through the books? I've been in that ground unable to breath and attendance figures have blatantly been fudged in the past. It can work both ways no doubt. And btw, I have no idea about yesterday's attendance other than there were loads of gaps-room for a lot more people.

And there was me thinking we go along to games to support the Team ? That's supposed to be the case, but some people decided not to go because of the manager.

I reckon many more stayed away due to Barton than folk on here realised. It seems they were replaced by other fans then given how difficult it has been to get tickets when we were doing well under JB.

Was the blue carpet rolled out for some of the ones on twitter who were making a big deal about not having been for 3+ years?

I don’t know where those who were saying there were plenty of gaps stand but I’d love to know where they do because it was bordering on dangerous where I stand on the east terrace. Not sure if it’s linked but an elderly gent had a fall I think after one of the goals.
Note : hope he’s well.

I have a very close friend who stopped going because he witnessed domestic violence towards his Mother as a child, it’s not all black and white.
