It's all a bit depressing.
I might have to pull I'm not coming back until they are gone if things dont get any better under current owners.
The comment about cutting the South stand in half and putting end of the East Stand sounds exactly like something this lot will do.

The Al Saeeds werenāt responsible for anything to do with the South Stand or FM so letās see what they come out with.

I just hope they do a proper job and itās not embarrassing in any way. Whilst Iād agree the south stand is a big improvement on what was there before. Iād also say it needs doing again, those pillars!! What were they thinking?? I laugh at all the pillars in the SW corner, itās a wonder anyone can see anything. I just think they should have balanced the additional cost of doing a proper job against the improved fan experience a better south stand would have brought. After the south stand I envisage two wooden sheds stapled on to each side of the east stand.

Yet, there has never been the outbursts of embarrassing having pillars, fan experience etc. Its a temporary stand a big upgrade on a drafty tent. Is the outrage about what it looks like to people elsewhere in the ground or on the tv or from people using the stand ?

We'll I have sat in the South Stand three times now, each time in row Z, which is the back row. I was right in the middle against Blackpool and the pillars didn't bother me at all, however if I had sat in my designated seat against Carlisle I would not have been able to see the goal at the Thatchers end without serious sideways movement! Fortunately there were enough empty seats at 3pm for me to move a bit. Against Bolton I was in block so had part of the six yard box obscured. I have migrated from the West enclosure because I have a mate who isn't too good on his pins who prefers to sit and is now attending games again, so I think that is one real benefit of the new stand

I meant to say Block F. I could send some pictures if I can find out how to do it!

In time hopefully the south end will mainly be for away supporters and all the other stands will be done up to a decent standard, so we donāt have to worry about them seeing pillars which represent a massive improvement on away supporters stood on the East Stand open fully to the elements.

For no pillars it would have had to be a cantilever roof so may have been cost, trying to not annoy the neighbours anymore or both. Can see some pillars in SW corner disappear if they link the 2 stands together.

There is no doubt it should have been possible to have a single pillar in that corner, but suspect it is too late now.

As much as weāre told itās a temporary thing, we all know itāll be like that forever now. Iām usually in the thatchers end and yes, those pillars annoy me. I just think they should have made it as good as it could be. I was given tickets for the rugby, as much as I hate city theyāve done a proper job of their stadium, south stand is about 3 times the size. I travel away to smaller clubs, many of these have proper new stands with unrestricted views. I just think itās a shame and will no doubt ending costing them more in the long run.

After the many stadiums weāve been promised over the years I just feel the south stand is a bit disappointing.

I guess a stand without pillars would have cost a lot more and probably might not be temporary (which may affect planning ). The capacity would be smaller due to the nature of suspending a roof meaning space is needed behind the stand. Which in turn would reduce the space in the concourse . The only option would have been to demolish the north terrace and bars first move the pitch north 30 ft. Continue with a tent for a further year or so as the north terrace got totally rebuilt as a modern stand . Then a perm south stand could be built . Would have meant a capacity of under 8000 for a season or two (including away fans)

Replicate the west and north stands like the south stand and rebuild the east stand with a massive structure we might even get a 20 k capacity ground

Easy to do a āproper jobā on stadium redevelopment when you have a retired billionaire willing to throw 10ās of millions at it. Iām sure there must be loads of billionaires among our fanbase - I just wish theyād come forward š

Oh go on then ā¦.. will Ā£30m cover things ?Ā Yeah, about 4 seasons the way we are going. You do wonder how the new owners are going to finance annual losses of Ā£4m whilst investing Ā£m's in two new stands which, whilst they are being constructed, will probably mean reduced attendance leading to reduced income. Even if they cut the wage bill by 25% and losses by a similar sum, that still leaves substantial losses each season until both new stands are built.

Buying and selling players like Conteh is the only model that makes sense.
