If that is what they are hinting out then Swindon is miles away. I don't see why they'd need to but if so why not just go to Twerton for a season? A trip down memory lane for many. ..I'm good with that or Cheltenham

I’d genuinely rather play down the gate for a season than Swindon.

How many people would actually travel to Swindon compared to the capacity of 2 open stands?
If it possible to stay at the Mem at all with just 2 stands, then I would bet on that still getting more people in attendance.

If we're playing elsewhere for a season I'm expecting the east and thatchers to be better than the south stand.

Honestly reckon we’ll be better off doing 1 at a time and sticking put.
We can’t do East and North at the same time and stay put unless it gets built around the existing stands as we’d lose the bulk of our capacity.
The only realistic alternative is Ashton Gate which is unpalatable for other reasons.
Swindon, Cheltenham are too far. Cardiff or Newport is laughably impractical.
Bath I don’t think we can get away with in this age.
For all of these the cost of rent and lost attendance would surely outweigh extra cost and inconvenience of a more piecemeal development.
In a way, doing the south stand as it was is an enabler of sorts is it not?

Not that I am disappointed, a rebuild of the East and North are 100% required, why did the owners just a few months ago suggest they were looking at just extending the East stand? It doesn't sound like that is what we are doing.

If we're building flats as well as stands then I wonder how practical it is to continue using the ground when half of it, including the car park, will be a building site. I assume doing both stands in one will take a couple of years, doing it consecutively for anything up to 5 years?
I guess the sooner the flats are built then the sooner they start earning the club rents.
On the flip side just how (un)attractive would travelling to Swindon, or Cardiff, be for.most fans, as you can't see any other localish grounds being suitable particularly with so many games now shown on Sky.

If Bath Rugby could do something with their pitch, I would rather go there.
Holds 14,500.
Would be brilliant.

It doesn't sound like that is what we are doing. Probably just keeping their cards close to their chests, as the new stadium capacity still looks around 16K. They also suggested MT would have a much reduced budget but that seems unlikely with the players we've signed.

So is this all now official?
- we're building the North and East stands simultaneously;
- we're building student flats as part of - the above;
- we're relocating during the build.
I ask because the owners haven't said anything even remotely resembling any of this.

What’s the capacity of the west stand and south stand combined? 5,500ish? Even if we did redevelop the north and east at the same time, I reckon we’d be better off just being at the ground with only season ticket holders and away fans for a season. If safe to do so of course.
Twerton’s capacity is not much more and we’d only be getting 4-5k gates if we played in Swindon.

Kingsholm would be a great temporary home with exceptional facilities for our level & 16k+ capacity. Relatively easy to get to - could be a problem with the EFL as the pitch is all weather 3G.
