Did the original Mem student plans involved demolishing some houses owned by the club ( that we no longer own ) or was that just for the Sainsbury's plan ? Pretty sure the houses were bought at the time in readiness of any future plans being approved for developing the stadium.

That’s fine consulting with residents but fans are getting completely forgotten. I don’t need consulting and don’t expect to have input into what, how when the build takes place but it’s awful that us fans are left scrambling around for snippets of information being leaked on social media by resident groups following their meetings. If the club meet residents on a Monday why can’t the club tweet or email fans with an update the next morning? They did. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/club-statement-residents-meetingsI’m sure that came out quite a bit later than the first meeting with residents and after the drip feed of bits from residents social media had started? Perhaps an after thought to issue that statement? Also seems the residents got more info than the fans were provided in that statement.

I’ve had pictures, timetables, off to Cheltenham and even started picking my seat. None of it happened. So let’s do it right with the locals and maybe just maybe this time it will happen.

Not sure on demolishing houses, but didn’t the plans involve digging down so the overall height of the Mem was not increased that much? It means you walked into the stadium about 1/2 way up. Or am I getting mixed up with UWE or 10 other stadiums we have proposed before 😂

We can “do it right” with both locals and fans though surely? We’ve gone from one end of the spectrum (no resident involvement or consideration) to where we are now which is possibly too much pandering to, and too much influence from residents being allowed? It still feels fans are being treated like kids whilst the adults keep everything to themselves. The residents now know what the clubs intentions are so I don’t see why artists impresssions and a bit more detail can’t be provided to fans - with obvious caveats about subject to further consultation, planning process etc…….

If images and drawings have been made available to local residents, then it’s only a matter of time before they’re leaked and we will get a peak. And as has already been pointed out, we can all start moaning like crazy because it’s not what I want, or should be doing this that or the other. Keep everything cloak and dagger so no hysterical negatives are spewed out. Just my opinion. UTG

Seems to me that the owners are try hard to do the right thing .AS for neighbours knowing before fans I would have thought they should be the first to know. Also I for one do not want to see any plans until it's a forgone conclusion they will be brought to fruition, so many times we have seen wonderful plans and mock ups to drool over only to have our hopes and dreams dashed for one reason or another, don't want anymore false dawns!

Others will say they’ve invested decades of emotional energy and time supporting the club through good and bad times and would like to be kept informed by the club at an early a stage as possible rather second hand from the social media accounts of serial protestors

Any plans that may have been shown to residents may be more to do with footprint, height and access. The fans - generally - would probably be more interested in capacity and faculties within the stadium. Granted it would be nice to see what it looks like. Regarding sunken pitch comment. Thatchers and East terrace back steps are already ground level. Not really sure the pitch can go much lower without redeveloping the whole stadium

I've been there for over 40 years as well, but I'm not demanding to be told anything in advance of anyone else. As and when the club are in a position to release any plans/news to they wider audience, I'm sure they will.

I’m not demanding to know anything in advance of anyone else either, I’d like fans to hear about stadium plans at the same time as residents - many of whom have done everything they can to disrupt whatever the club tries to do to progress and survive.

(or the annoying twat in the pub) I know full well that I will learn about the plans when the club decides I’m allowed to know - they have complete control over that. Doesn’t mean I have to stay quiet about not liking the way it’s being rolled out and not voice my opinion on an open forum. I couldn’t give a stuff whether you find it annoying that some fans may want to know what our future holds whilst you are happy to sit and wait - I don’t disrespect any fan that holds that position fwiw.
