Just driven into London on the Great West Road past Brentford's Ground and it's all white on the exterior. Has a massive Sonic the Hedgehog on top mind you... Used to look out for the SEGA building (with the giant sonic) whilst going over that flyover when I was a youngun, surely it’s not still there?

All this talk about the colour of the South stand is like watching paint dry Really, so you wouldn't mind if the entire ground was rebuilt and it was sky blue? Would look like a plastic build your own stadium kit that you forgot to paint. Personally I’d be pleased the bloody thing has been rebuilt after all these years.

Yes, I get all that, and have used the argument about buying a house next to a football ground many times myself. Expansion and development is inevitable. However, I think that bright blue cladding really makes it look like an eyesore. A green/brown colour would have blended in with their gardens and wouldn't have cost Rovers a penny more than the blue stuff. Still, the South Stand was Wael's baby. The new owners say they want to engage with the neighbours and "take them on the journey with them." Let's hope they mean it. Fair point but we need mutual respect. Some local pressure groups can't simply ' dislike' or ' oppose ' application's because they don't like football supporters or the club. Clearly if you look at the objectives of the four pressure groups since 1997 . It is openly prejudice and full of stereotypes about supporters and the club. They jump from one group to the next finding different objections often contradicting. For example F.O.M.S stated ' we welcome the historical relevance of the stadium safeguarding its future as a sporting venue and we support any revamps ' this was to stop Sainsburys . Then did a U - turn by saying ' any increases in attendances will impact the local community '. In a word they don't want us there !. No argument with any of that, mate. All I’m saying is that the colour is an abomination, which with a bit of considerate thinking by Rovers, could have been avoided.

There is also a huge electronic Gtech board with sonic on too as you pass the stadium on the flyover.

Birmingham stewards seemed to have been trained by the US Secret Service. Not much searching pre game there Union Berlin seem to have a few games with a substantial amount of pyros. I see that 2500 Union Berlin fans volunteered when the stadium needed work done.

Look up the meaning of the word blend just took a virtual walk up Muller road, must be 50+ different coloured houses and buildings on the road, including a couple of bright blue ones! We’re not talking Bath or Edinburgh here. Not sure why this is bothering you so much? Do you live on Alton Road or know some people that do that the colour has upset? Roll on the massive East and North stand please Gas.

Just out of curiosity Joe, what colour(s) would you go for? The houses in Alton Rd are a mixture of brick and render painted in various colours. The most consistent thing is the generally clay roof tiles. I suspect that some residents would complain about any colour, because they oppose the idea of a large(ish) new stand. The addition of solar panels to the roof would reduce the amount of bright blue visible from higher vantage points. As someone has mentioned, it will probably look more muted with time.

Yeah, it was me who said it will probably fade over time. I wouldn't object to a great many colours. A darkish green, or brown, or slate/clay, or brick colour? Probably many more to choose from. Just not any colour which stands out like a sore thumb, as that awful blue does.

So at least one day a year will blend seamlessly 🤣

Roll on the massive East and North stand please Gas. It's not bothering me too much. I just can't resist answering people's questions to me on here. One final point about the colour of the houses on Muller Road. Yes, there are a few different colours, and some of them are blue, but none of them are as big as a stand which can house three and a half thousand people. "Roll on the massive East and North stand please Gas." Totally agree. Can't wait for them. The bigger the better. Just make them a reasonable colour. Finis.
