I can genuinely see Newport as the answer to any short term move, not that I expect anything to happen quickly. probably best solution if we have to leave, but dont they already share with another team there? Yes, Dragons Rugby. Although rumours abound in Wales that one of the four regions will be gone within a year.

Yes they are the whipping boys like Newcastle in the English premiership. But they will survive on a small budget and small attendance . That said they average 4-6k and there's nothing around the Gwent area that can accomadate that capacity. So I think Newport is out the question.

Irrespective that, I'm sure I read within the last year or so that Rovers said we're not moving out of the Mem anyway.

The EFL requirements are here sgsa.org.uk/regulatory-support/advice-for-promoted-national-league-clubs/Capacity probably wouldn’t be an issue however I sense there could be issues with terracing, barriers, segregation and entrances.

It’s a shame twerton isn’t up to scratch.
Of all the touted destinations if we were to leave the men for a bit, bath would be the most ideal, also considering we’ve played there before and have a bit of support there already too.

I can genuinely see Newport as the answer to any short term move, not that I expect anything to happen quickly. It's the most obvious solution to me for a league ground. I was at the ICC the other week. Took me 35 mins to get there from WSM, which is about the same time it takes me to get to the Mem. For fans in Bristol its a good link from whereever you are to the M32/M4 interchange and probably the same sort of squirt. As a regular traveller to London for work, I know that the county ground is just over an hour away, which for me, makes it too much of a day out for every home game and I suspect a good feww fans would feel the same. Isn't the ground now owned by the rugby club, who I assume already play on the alternative Saturdays?

Did I not say a while back that I had contacted the football club, and they clearly stated that the club are not intending to move anywhere, so why are we having this stupid conversation about where the club may move to . While the east stand is being developed the team will be playing at the Mem, but at least some of the car park will be closed. I shall be glad when the season kicks off and fans have football to talk about.

Either they've given him false info or there's some truth in it. I doubt TG is going to reply to a remind supporter's email telling him the rumour was true, then have the owners asking him what he's playing at breaking news they wanted to keep quiet for now?

The club has been losing money hand over fist for a very long time. The new owners are obviously trying to put the house in order and improve the ground. Why on earth would they move out of. the Mem to develop the ground to play miles away from Bristol with a huge loss of spectator revenue and on top of that pay rent to another club whilst at the sametime finance the stadium build. Closing the East stand still gives us 4000 seats plus the thatchers and West terrace capacity’s. The Twerton times and portacabins facilities and training at a chocolate factory ground are long gone.

Because it gets the job done far quicker so the club can start earning more money quicker. Messing about building one stand at a time along with the flats will probably take up to 5 years, all the while that is taking place the ground capacity will be cut by at least 25%, we probably have no chance of making a promotion push until the work is completed so that's potentially more money lost. I've no idea if there's any truth in what NG1 posted but there's some logic in moving out for a couple of seasons.

We don't even know if the flats rumour is true yet. And now we're moving out for two seasons? Blimey this thread chugs along with developments every week without a single word from the only people who actually know.
