Thanks for sharing this. A couple of moments I could feel myself getting a bit tear-ey eyed.
I went to the Vale V Mansfield game to support DC and loved it. They also had a phenomenal connection with him, the way he applauded the fans tearing up was so moving.
Being born in the early 90s, DC is without doubt the best/most liked manager of my generation. Absolute legend.

Wow, that is incredibly brave of DC to speak so honestly about this.

For such a likeable person DC's lived an hard life, although perhaps that's why he is so down to earth.

I wonder what top league one job he just missed out on? Charlton? Surprised having just missed out on a top job he took on the Cheltenham job. Well he stuck with us instead of Leeds. Maybe he just doesn't want the hassle and inevitable sacking after 9 months in the Championship.

The article suggests he does eventually, although I was wondering why he didn't wait a month or so for a easier job, I assume Exeter and possibly Northampton will be looking for manager's soon.

Great bloke, salt of the earth sort. Awful experience as a child as well growing up, doesn’t use it as an excuse or right a book about it, a proper winner in life and so humble.
He stepped in and delivered at the most perilous time in the clubs history, we could have easily ended up like Yeovil.
I’ve heard some proper rubbish the last 2 months about best squad we’ve had since Holloway, DC’s squad assembled on Higgs budget wateres all over todays and we had a real connection with those players all because of this great person Darrell Clarke.
Only one word for him, legend.
And our thoughts are with him forever regarding his daughter.

Let’s not be silly now. Collins would have a field day against Parkes, as would LT against leadbitter. Mansell up against Bogarde? Come on🤣Just for good measure James Wilson pockets both snake & Harrison.

Snake in his league one form is to quick upstairs and downstairs for Wilson. Imo.

Surely this thread can't be turned into another JB bashing thread, when it's nothing at all to do with him.

I was going off of “Higgs budget”, it obviously became Wael’s budget early 2016. But yeh the article certainly hits hard, another big reception for DC incoming next month no question about it.

One day I'll be really old. 35 for reference. If we ever have a manager that connects me to this beautiful game as much as DC- I'll be surprised. I'd turned casual on football. DC Rovers got me playing again. I'm no footballer. But that guys gas made me fall in love with rovers again. And the second time, I was an adult choosing for myself. My decision.
He's my favourite manager/ or player I've ever experienced.
