If Belly comes back then logic dictates that Cox is sent back. Cannot see how we can have 4 keepers on the books. For Ward, he can only go on loan the the club he was on loan with as he has played for two clubs this season. Belly can only remain or go to FGR, same reasons. Hall can go out on loan as he has not played for anyone. Having Cox, Belly, Ward here will not help Ward's development.
Why was Ward bought back?

Perhaps they thought it would be better to have Ward as back up and if we don't look like getting into the play offs towards the end of the season, he might get a few games so he can progress to being the no 2 next season.
I would not be surprised if Hall goes on loan to a conference south club for the second part of the season.

Taylor was manger at Exeter when Belshaw had that mare the 4/3 game we lost no chance he will want him back Nah he’d left them by then. Caldwell was their boss by the December. His last game in charge there was v us at their place 2-2 earlier in the season. Granted Belshaw actually dropped a clanger in that game too 🤣

If it's ineligibility because of yellow/red cards or being cup-tied that's black or white - no reason to postpone for an investigation. My guess it's about the Belshaw emergency loan, someone has complained... There's been a few interesting articles about the topic in recent months. Rise of the 'fake' No2It wasn't Belshaw , it wasn't Deeney, it was though a lone player ineligible to have played in the initial first round game at Scarborough They've only got one player out on loan - Amadou Bakayoko who is still at Dundee. They've got five in on loan but none appear to be cup-tied - Callum Jones/Hull City, Dylan Kadji/Bristol City, Reece Welch/Everton, Callum Morton/Salford City and James Belshaw...

Even if it’s not because of Belshaw, how can someone who went on an emergency loan still be allowed to play for them two months later with their first choice keeper now fit again? I assumed the rules were once a senior keeper is back fit the emergency loan ends? ...the question is who enforces the rules? Luke Daniels apparently got a "knock" which (using what we all understand that term to mean) is one or at most two weeks out of the team - but if the manager chooses not to put him on the bench (or in the starting XI) who actually checks if he is fit enough vs a tactical choice...?

My take on Belshaw.
At league two level. He has all the attributes needed in goal plus has great outfield ability and confidence. Would definitely be my choice keeper in league two.
At league one level. Nothing has changed about his abilities. The difference is the speed and quality of the opposition. This showed that JBs speed of thought and actions were slightly too slow at this level to do the things he excelled in at league two.
Could he be coached to play differently to counter his achilles heel ? Possibly.
Money obviously is important but i would imagine its better to be the best keeper in league two.Rather than an average one (if picked) in league one.

1st game to be replayed, result to be decided on the night. They did field an ineligible player. No punishment then.

So Barnsley get kicked out for doing the same as this but FGR get to do a replay? Am I missing something here?

So Barnsley get kicked out for doing the same as this but FGR get to do a replay? Am I missing something here? It's all very strange, with Barnsley it was clear which player and why, with FGR I've seen at least three and possibly more players named as the issue...plus no one seems clear whether it was the first drawn game or the replay... Belshaw? Either the emergency loan is being investigated as no longer being required (would have a huge impact on their league season as well) *or* Rovers didn't give them permission to play him in the FA Cup...or FGR messed up paperwork and only submitted to the EFL and not the FA...? They have Welch on loan from Everton - did Everton give them permission to play him in the FA Cup? Deeney? Unused sub in the first game, started up front in the replay but got his fifth yellow card in the league game in-between...but do yellow cards carry over into the FA Cup? If it was him why the investigation taking several days, it should be clear-cut... Sully? Youngster who scored the equaliser in the first game - but was he correctly registered to play in the FA Cup? He doesn't appear on their official EFL squad list apparently and was away on loan for a month from 6th Oct - but the first FA Cup game was Nov 4th, so was it calendar month or a set number of days? Or can it be ended early? Either way it seems to have annoyed a lot of people and surprised there's been no clear indication of what the specific issue was...

Completely different set of circumstances to Barnsley, wasn't Sully , Belly, Deeney or Welch but was a loan player

...same category as Welch then? Season-long loan from Hull but Hull didn't give permission/sign the correct paperwork for him to play in the FA Cup? Seems weird they've not been thrown out of the cup as he started both the first game and the replay, not sure why they've been allowed to replay the whole tie if it was as clear cut as that....

Looks like its Belshaw.
Club Chairman Dale Vince has made the following statement:
When investigations take place and rulings get announced in football, fans are often left confused as to what actually went on - making them wonder what the hell is happening at their club.
Our recent charge came about after we failed to tell the FA that we had permission from the player's home club to be part of our FA Cup squad. They recognised we had approval for the player - but that we had not told them, which was our mistake. In the grand scheme of things this was an admin error, so we appreciate the FA's acceptance of what happened and their judgement.
The FA ruled that Scarborough Athletic will keep all the money from the gate for this replay, as is right - and we don’t get travel or accommodation expenses (which are normal). Hopefully this means something good can come from this.

As my previous it's not Belly , it's Callum Jones ! Just been nosing through the loanees. Belshaw as it would definitely have needed consent from Rovers. Jones as they might have wrongly assumed that 'season long' meant all competitions to FGR and his parent club. The later seems more likely and is believable as a genuine error
