Oh bugger. Now I’ve got cheer on FGR 😂🤞 I checked the bookies to see what the odds were in case one of you were losing out.. but they are literally evens to go down

'Troy of the Rovers',clever headline.Since they beat us at the Mem first match last season they haven't been very good.Collins scored in our 2-1 defeat but we deserved to lose.

Perhaps they will become another Yeovil Town. But I don’t particularly dislike them just like I never disliked Yeovil. Unfortunately they both happened to have their rise whilst we were getting worse and worse (esp Yeovil) so it became very pointed that such small clubs could out-perform us. I thought that they would probably fall back to their historical positions compared to us. It was more about us being rubbish.
Let’s face it for much of this century so far we’ve been poor compared to what we were. And their fans gave it big when they were competing with us which was very annoying but understandable.
Me, I’m looking to start giving it back to the other lot when we get up to their level and start competing with them. A kind of similar thing with us taking the role that Yeovil and FGR have had for in the past.
UTG!

They’ll be looking back at dancing on our pitch like a cherished childhood memory this time next year when it’s Dorking Wanderers & Fylde (A)

Deeney sacked after 6 games. Is that a record They’ll have appointed their 5th permanent manager in 12 months by the end of Jan, that’s surely a record.

As Wareham says all the 'little' teams are looked on and viewed with great respect and affection by football fans until they get to a situation where they are rivals, then it all changes!. years ago when membership of the football league was subject to re/election and election, football fans were loud in their support for Yeovil getting elected . we were all pleased when it happened, then they overtook us , some of their fans got a bit carried away and whoosh they are not the dear little Somerset club anymore.! As for FGR, surely no one can deny that theirs is a remarkable story? I have nothing but admiration for what they have achieved , that won't be diminished due to the actions of a few over enthusiastic fans, enthusiasm many of our fans would display i am sure! Thing is, in both cases and a few others these clubs reach a level which they find almost impossible to maintain, gates and income will never get to a level high enough to finance operating at the higher level for any length of time without a 'sugar daddy' type figure involved, Wimbledon were the exception for many years, gates of 4-5000 , Bournemouth making a good fist of it ,somehow. Think Yeovil's natural home is National/league 2 , FGR probably National , but that's not to say they are not entitled to have 'their 'day in the sun now and again. Rovers are probably viewed by most fans these days as a league 1 or 2 club, as i remember the days when we were in todays speak, a championship /league 1 club that's where i place us and i believe we are more than capable of operating successfully at championship level, Premiership ,no thanks not for me, BUT you don't refuse promotion if that's what comes do you?

They mean as much to me now as they did at the start of the 14/15 season. Nothing.
Danced all over our pitch after securing promotion (in what was a huge game for both sides) won the league & we still managed to go on & upstage the biggest achievement in their history.
An awful away day in every single tick box, will not be missed.

No problem with their genuine supporters and the real people at the club who’ve been there through thick and thin.
But it amuses me to see their odious little owner failing to turn this slide around. No sympathy whatsoever.
