Wow - didn't expect to be taking the honours on this one!
Taylor's first game in charge. Crawley decent at home.
Be interesting to see how we set up and who starts etc.

Think he'll go for a strong team. Needs to hit the ground running and we dont want to be in a 3 game run without a win ahead of Chelts. Players looked distracted last week and nothing like winning to get them all happy again.
Need some big players to step up. Do I fork out £10 for a BSM Trophy game though?

Looking forward to this one ... Our only realistic chance of a big game at Wembley so I am right behind the guys in this tournament.
Its a huge game for so many reasons ...
1. First game for the new manager and he will want to start with a win I am sure.
2. Old favourites have no 'in house angel' on their shoulder now so will have to be really on their game.
3. Guys pushing for a start will never get a better opportunity than the next ten games to truly establish themselves at this club
Crawley are a very decent side at home and this will not be easy at all - excited to see how we set up and who Taylor entrusts for this one...
Hoping we go strong and progress !

Be very interesting game this, just because of Taylors first game in charge.
I think he'll go two ways.
Either play a strong team on paper to get the win
Or if he's watched plenty of game videos of the squad this season may play the under performers to prove to him they should be in his first team plans

Hunt's not appeared in any EFL Trophy game so far this season. Cox may also step aside to give Ward some much needed game time. |

Normally don’t give a toss about this crappy competition (which I did like before infiltrated by prem kids), but would like to see Matt play a strong side and get off to a good start. I think we could all do with a morale boost.

Think we might see Collins and Brown as a front 2 tonight.Dont think Exeter played an out and out number 9 (unless Nombe was classed as such) plus they didn’t fart ass about in defence so will be interesting to see how the game plays out tonight.Hard one to call but hoping for 2-3 gas win.

Bristol Rovers ended their search for a new manager on Friday with the appointment of Matt Taylor and they can make a successful start under the new regime with an EFL Trophy success against Crawley.
Taylor's debut in the Rovers dugout was delayed by the postponement of Saturday's FA Cup second round tie at Crewe. But the free weekend will have afforded Taylor some valuable time to adjust to his new surroundings and it may encourage him to select a stronger line-up against Crawley than would otherwise have been the case.
League One success will be Taylor's priority but several of his Rovers' key players may need some game time and that could spell bad news for Crawley, who have been going through a sticky patch.
Crawley were among the early front runners in League Two but they have slipped back into the pack following six defeats in their last nine league fixtures.
The Red Devils were beaten 3-1 at Notts County a week ago and they may struggle to cope with the Pirates, who will be eager to get their new gaffer off to a winning start.
