So here we go then - first bread and butter game of MTs tenure, and the return of my favourite ever Gas manager 😍
Cheltenham on a brilliant little run of form - the king has helped turn them round.
With morale low, I'd probably take a point tbh.
Bet of the day will be both teams to score.

A tough physical battle which we'll win the encounter but might surrender some stats like possession corners etc..
Good luck with history group day, I'll be on the road spending notes in some well known establishments.... although might swing by if those notes dry up so Harry can get his card out and buy something fizzy....

Could be a frustrating game with the weather and all the recent upheavall. DC typically already doing a great job at Chelts too.
Play like we did first half at Crawley and find our shooting boots and we should have too much. Predicting a 2-0 HT lead and early goal back from Chelts and then a painful 2nd half

It’s nice to be talking about football again instead of the usual circus!
Time for us to step on the gas and put Cheltenham away comfortably.
Who will get the biggest reception today MT or DC I’m not sure?

Don’t forget people sat in proper seats in our new south stand for the first time.
This has long had the billing of being a special game today.
It was always going to be the anniversary game.
Then it became clear our greatest manager, at least of the last few decades, was set to return even if as opposition manager.
Then it was obvious it would be the first home & league game of our new managers Rovers career
Followed by the unveiling of the anniversary kit.
And confirmation by some that they’ll be able to sit in their new seats for the first time.
Let’s hope our players raise the bar for their new manager this afternoon.

A wet and windy day will sort out the men from the boys
Looking like a fairly easy to predict line up, the only issue at left back
We’ve all been banging on about our need to strengthen with quality in this area, let’s hope MT has a gem identified in this position
Trevor Clarke? Anyone know his situation? I’d definitely consider him and it would mean Vale could be deployed further up the pitch

Probably couldn't get a tougher game for a first home match. Local-ish derby, ex manager, not great form, going to be a battle! Not sure we have the type of player for a battle. Reckon DC will smell blood. Think it'll be a score draw, got a feeling Chelts will steal a 0-1?
