And another thread descends into a shouting match about Barton. But it doesn't have to, does it. That is the point. The comments made, they weren't constructive really. It was the same old, same old we shouldnt have sacked JB. It can be protested as to that wasnt what was said but if you read on, its about vanilla this and vannilla that. Just going over old ground again. Then to come out firing with name calling, it's just exactly the behaviour the mods have made a good attempt at avoiding. If you look at the match day thread, it's the same person who raises JB on about page 4 or 5 with the same old rubbish. We have the JB thread where anything JB has done or could've or should've or didn't do. Let's keep it all over there. If this person had just joined, we would have though they were a WUM and would have got a ban. No it didn't, there is no excuse for posters to get aggressive in their replies. |

Just to repost what the mods said:
If a pending new thread relates to behaviour by JB now he is no longer manager of our club please post it in the existing thread instead - to be renamed “Barton Post Rovers”
when discussing the merits of his Rovers career please stick to relevant threads, and avoid personal attacks against other posters.
So, to clarify:
You can absolutely say you weren’t happy he left, there were elements that you liked about his tenure. Absolutely.
Hence Gasify was completely wrong. He hasn’t understood it at all and has conflated it with “no discussion of
Barton”
Now he’s got a broadside, victim playing will ensue. It’s now about the insults….well, I’m sorry I hurt your feelings, Gasify.
Now, I’d like an apology when you’re ready. You had no right to jump down my throat.
This is a football forum for discussing Bristol Rovers. This will always include discussion of management teams, decision the clubs made. You might not like it, but nobody wanted your opinions banned when you were calling for his removal. Now you’ve got it, you have to be grown up enough to accept the converse.
As I’ve said, I was tired of the continual possession style and weakness in both boxes. I enjoyed having a high profile manager who was known in the game and yes, going back to vanilla league 1 managers is a bit of a comedown. That isn’t controversial and it’s not said to upset you or fuel the debate. It’s a point of view, just deal with it.
If you don’t want to be told to f**k off, try a bit of humility and respecting the opinions of others before trying to bend forum rules to get people modded and banned.

I appreciate that this time of year can be difficult for some. I don't know if you are Male or Female, the relevance of that was a poster talking about Mens mental health (and the lack of discussion amongst men particularly). 'Twas ever thus but more so lately. Very true aghast, and deeply divisive subjects will inevitably go awry and into insult territory sadly. Several posts have been flagged recently, and I would encourage this as it's going to be more tricky than normal for the mods to keep on top of it, with the strength of feeling around at the moment. We never want to censor things, but cannot leave the place to become full of slanging matches, so thanks to all for debating away but keeping it civil at all times. Thanks all. |
