If we get JCH that would be amazing. The main thing fans should be looking out for will the club spend nearly £1 million as suggested in the last window ?. Was is just a good P.R exercise ? Was it geniune?. And with the play offs an outside possibility. Will the club push hard and give Taylor around a £1 million in this window ?. Of course I want J.C.H but the wider question is will this money be made available for a late play off push ?. I think we should, if it doesn't result in play offs this year, the team will be more galvanised ready for next year's domination

On balance- Martin until the end of the season with another pacier offering seems good. JCH is a great player but perhaps similar to what we have. I'd like a third striker option- and that should be more different from Martin and Marquis.

This squad is progressing well and to beat Bolton Pompey and Charlton is beyond fans expectations. Who knows a £1 million injecting of cash could sneak us in the play offs?.

Crazy not to sign JCH unless his demands have changed . A proven goal scorer is rare to find. We are given the opportunity to sign one and are turning him away. Martin doing well for us but Collins and Marquis will NOT get us the goals we need to get us out of L1 I would still go in for JCH. He wanted to move this way so it was said as it is closer to family. The Posh owner can say what he likes but the guy has a few months left on his contract so value is dwindling, it doesn't really matter that he has scored a couple now. Clubs will just wait to get him on a free than pay over the odds which Posh will want. I am fully expecting JCH to extend his contract with Posh by a year though. Isn’t it their policy to transfer list anyone who comes within a year of their contract expiring? Unless they’ve changed their policy I don’t see a one year extension happening.

He’s only got a matter of months left until he’s a free agent so imo will be worth half what was agreed in the summer at best.

Cannot understand it myself as I’m sure he’d be available for 3/400k. Let’s see what Taylor has lined up. Personally I won’t be watching where JCH goes as I have no doubt he’ll bag 12-15 goals 2nd half of the season.

Like with stadiums, I don’t see why supporters think the club make up stories of possible signings and then fail to to follow through with it just to make it look like the right intent is there.
It just makes the club look stupid when it fails to follow through.

DMac is a twit.
He wants more than 450k for a striker who has less than half a year left on his contract and has barely started, in L1?
Look it's his player, he can ask what he wants but he needs to be realistic.

If the rumours about Toney attracting bids around 70 million or more are true, he can afford to stick as many fingers up as he likes Especially if the clubs sniffing are promotion rivals He may be a twit but he’s a very astute business man! I don't know who Darragh is trying to fool you be honest. If I woke up this morning and read in the news "Clarke-Harris has been sold to Wrexham for 450k/500k" I would actually think that is good business. I think he's blowing smoke because maybe the clubs that do want to pay close tothe price Darragh wants JCH doesn't want to go to. If I was JCH I think I would just wait until the summer

Barry Fry has confirmed we won’t be going back in for JCH so that ends that!

UTG The owners of Peterborough's ground are in admin, so what does DM actually own, footballing wise, to be considered an astute business man? Brentford have also said they've had no bids for Toney, so they seem just rumours about a January transfer.

Barry Fry has confirmed we won’t be going back in for JCH so that ends that! I don't think we should go back in for him, but I'm not sure Barry Fry would know any more than us. If we were still interested, we wouldn't want to come across to keen, as they would want more money. I would expect us to come across as not keen and keep an eye on the situation, even if we are keen.

I would be saying to JCH's agent. I know JCH wants to come back to Bristol. We will sign him on a free in the summer with a big signing on fee. Tell JCH to see out your last 6 Months at Peterborough. Refuse any contract offers from Peterborough or any transfer proposals put in front of you. In the meantime Rovers should do a deal with Chris Martin until the end of the season with an option for an extension based on goals & appearances.

Brentford have also said they've had no bids for Toney, so they seem just rumours about a January transfer. I'd forgotten about that, something to do with convincing a co-owner to loan the club money (secured against the stadium) and then not even trying to pay anything back for more than a year. I can see why they would be looking to free up some cash from the wage bill, let alone get in a cash transfer fee...

My two sense..
Simple things are, he'll probably go for whatever club offers the longest contract.
So for instance: speculation Rhodes is leaving Blackpool after Huddersfield loan spell and now they've found their nous, if they offered 2.5years he should snap their hand off and. Plus, hecould be a in with a shout Championship player to boot in May..
Some Pompey fans a bit fed up with Colby Bishop (?) so idly speculation jch would solve all their perceived problems.
Or, sign for us for less time and ambition...?

I would have expected Rovers to have indicated to Peterborough that we're nolonger interested at the previous fee that had been agreed. For all we know the offers DM mentions could have been from the previous transfer window. I would guess the personal terms Rovers agreed with JCH would still stand for the right fee.

No championship has signed him so says a lot of where his limit is. take him on loan for the rest of the season if offered.spend the big bucks on defence and a experienced keeper

JCH is clearly not now going to sign for us, why can't posters just accept that?
