Of course he's not finished, he was the top goal scorer in League One last season and scored 29 goals. He's scored 10 this season from 25 matches. You might not want him but he's far from finished For anyone to call him finished is just embarrassing There's possibly more valid reasons for not wanting him here, but being finished isn't one. There's a fair amount on here that seem bothered by other people wanting him here for some reason, like we should prefer unknown quantities in the hope they're a hidden gem. That would obviously be a cheaper and longer term solution, but JCH is probably the closest guarantee for goals we're ever likely to get. And he wanted to come here.

I do wonder about players who dont try everything to play games and are happy to rot on the bench or in the stands. On the flip of that there are players like Charlie Savage who wasnt played as one more appearance would trigger a wage increase, so he deferred this to the summer in order to play games now. Fair play to the lad Is that the case or have Posh just not played him because they want rid? Clearly the latter, why would anybody suggest otherwise?

It’s been clearly documented that Posh want to play more fast attacking football, hence why JCH is no longer in favour. A quick look at their results since he was left out shows that system has been very successful. They have failed in their desire to get money for him, so it would appear he will be used by them as an impact sub if required for the rest of the season. When his contract is up and he becomes a free agent. As regards any links with us, I think that ship has sailed and as far as we are concerned it’s heading for the breakers yard and won’t ever be sailing in the colours of BRFC. I would suggest it’s now time for this thread to be allowed to sink down the forum and rest on the seabed forever.

Posh do this to every player in the last year of their contract, not sure it's working anymore as players now just seem to run down their contract and leave on frees. We've no real idea where JCH's heading in the summer, you have to assume his agent has lined up a deal somewhere, there's no reason it can't be Rovers and we're just keeping quiet as we don't need to tell Posh, we clearly now have the money if we want to sign JCH.

Quite true topper that posh put all their players on the transfer list in their last year of a contract. In this case though they have clearly changed their style of play and informed JCH of that fact, hence him being benched. As regards us signing him in the Summer ten months after that decision was made and he has hardly played for that time, that’s up to our hirearchy. I expect his wage demands will be similar to what he was trying to get Charlton to cough up and I for one think their is better and younger as well as cheaper out there. Definately a know for me now.

We will have to be buying a striker in the summer mind, and that's never cheap or a guarantee of goals. You'd hope the owners will be making a serious push for promotion next season, and I'd expect a striker will be the biggest outlay. There should be options, but finding someone experienced at actually scoring goals in division 1 and above narrows those. I think we might be more likely to be shopping in division 2 and that's probably the way forward. There are decent strikers down there, a few names were mentioned last night, I don't know about contract status with any of them but some would cost a fair whack. You Know Who will cost probably a bigger whack in wages alone but is still less of a gamble to get promoted, imo. I'd still far rather us pick someone up from non league or abroard and become a superstar, or even better one of our own rising through. Unfortunately the club doesn't have the necessary resources for these things to be possible currently, and it's going to cost more money because of that

Of course we don't need him. What a complete joke the owners are. They are probably dining out on lobster tonight somewhere. After the supporters had to put up with a crab stick of a performance. The lack of goals will be the story for the rest of the season. Didn't go tonight won't be going Saturday. Rather save loads of money to spend on something else.
