What a load of rubbish, two weeks ago the owner was talking about being in the premiership; Taylor needs to get a wriggle on and use his vast network of contacts and persuasive skills and bring in players who are better than what are currently at the club and get BRFC into the play offs. I honestly believe BRFC have the nucleus of a very good team, why are pps now back tracking ?, bring in a JCH and an experienced creative midfielder and an experienced keeper, and have a real go. Slim chance of making the play offs this season. So it's short sighted to sign players in this window, unless we think they are worth it and can do a job long term. If player B is better than player A, but not available until the summer, we should wait until we can sign player B. Do we risk the play offs this season, if it means being weaker next season??

Not sure football works like that, when did you last hear that we've lined up a player in January to sign in the summer? MT needs to sign the best players we can afford now and then start thinking about the summer signings in May. Connolly is still talking about making the Play offs in his pre Norwich presser.

The talks and planning about next summers signings should already be at advanced stages. Shortlisting out-of-contract targets, sounding out agents and if we had the appropriate structure in place, even negotiating and signing pre-contract agreements with relevant targets. But, we probably aren't.

Might be worth developing those relationships with the agents

I see Fernando Forestieri now available on a free. Decent short-term option for a club at our level.

Might be worth developing those relationships with the agents Do you think we don't speak to agents and so have relationships with them? Pretty certain one of the ex managers (DC?l suggested they were contracting him daily with player recommendations.

No I dont believe we speak to many agents to be honest, that's why we always raid managers former clubs for players, to a degree its about trust, to a degree its about limitations of contacts look at the evidence since DC DC signs Matty Taylor, Sincs, Clarke, Puddy and Jamie White TW/BG relentlessly went back to Coventry for Westbrooke, Davies, JCH Tisdale - Exeter - well maybe not so much but the Jayden Stockley episode still makes me cry. JB - Fleetwood Saunders, Finley, Couts, Whealen Admittedly we do sign other players but its heavy on the former club side. Do you have any knowledge about any agents and their contact?

I see that Will Evans made one and scored a really nice goal last night for Newport . He fits the bill of a mobile forward with a reasonable physical, presence and he also has an eye for a goal. There was talk that we were looking at him in the summer and we didn’t obviously think that he was worth a punt but..

A lot of those players that they manager knew, did okay for us.

I was just about to post that, I don't know much about the person who tweeted it. But he has a lot of followers! So looks like a good source. Anyone know anything about the player??

Only 21 years old too. Not sure Grimsby would be willing to let him go easily or cheaply, depending on what their financial situation is.

I see a Grimsby fan has commented they think he's worth £250,000 and they think he would be worth a million in a years time. Sounds like the sort of player we should be going for.

I think I’m just saying that signing familiar players will have a detrimental affect on scouting and building relationships with agents.

Can’t be. They want a fee. There’s no money.
