So all of the managers including DC , went back to their old clubs. Most managers do it. If they know a player personally and they know they can do a job for them, why wouldn't they?? A lot of those players that they manager knew, did okay for us. I think I’m just saying that signing familiar players will have a detrimental affect on scouting and building relationships with agents. No reason why we can't do both. The other thing is that when accounts are published, we often decry the cost of agents. Must be a happy medium between use of scouts, agents, players familiar to the manager of the day and longer term development of our own. |

Now this is the kind of statement signing I'd like to see! Was similarly excellent last season at Gateshead too where he was POTY. Destroyer who breaks up play, keeps it simple, with a box-to-box engine. |

Can’t imagine we get this one over the line, I’m sure he’ll have championship admirers. Judging on his current three year deal & how well he’s been playing, we’d need to be potentially breaking our transfer record!

Only rumours so might be rubbish, but a few seem to think he may have a release clause in his contract. So possibly the fee is already sorted just whether anyone is happy to pay it. |

The trick is to identify them before they command decent fees |

The trick is to identify them before they command decent fees Agreed, but tbf (if we pull this off) it feels like a Peterboro signing. yes we will have to pay a fee of maybe £250K upwards but potential sell on should be a factor. We need a few of these with a few free pick ups/home-growns to start the journey to a sustainable talent spotter and seller! |

It's pretty easy to identify the best players in the league below. Yeah i remember Posh signing Jack Taylor from conference club Barnet for £500k and sold him for around 3 times that. You have to hand it to them they do their research and trust in the stats and are prepared to put down a big outlay confident that they will make a profit |

All this talk of Posh making this and that from players, worth remembering we’ve had our share of successes too….
…in fact we signed JCH on deadline day and sold him a year later for a cool £1.4 Million to Posh , the same club that released him for nothing a few years earlier 👍🏾

I was talking about Conteh in the summer with a couple of recruitment people and how I rated him. Rare I get excited about players we get linked to, but Kamil Conteh is one. So much potential.  |

Looks good. Even if we don't manage to sign him, it shows we are at least looking at this type of young player with potential. That's if the person who tweeted it, was right in the first place. |

I'm guessing the bidding is starting closer to 400-500k |
