What a wonderful afternoon that was.
Too many times games like today, the long journey would have felt like a bad decision, but oh my not today.
Even if we hadn’t got the winner i had really enjoyed the game and loved the players commitment
To grab a last minute winner and enjoy those scenes was perfection.
Round of applause to all the players, staff and fans today.
Glad I’m staying in Bristol until the Charlton game

I hope so cos when he’s on it he’s the best player in league 1. All too positive this Thread! I normally very glass half full but I'm seeing this game really differently to almost everyone today! Collins was woeful today and was carried in my view. He should have been subbed off. Not Marquis! MT got away with the substitution. It killed the momentum and rovers could have lost the game because of it. It was after the substitution the Portsmouth dominated! Big shout to Connor Taylor. Completely dominated Colby Bishop. That takes some doing. Awesome! I didn’t say Collins played well tbf I said when he’s on it he’s brilliant. He hasn’t been great for a year. Subbing Marquis did take away our hard work and movement up front, but also the changes with ten left were excellent tactically moving to 433 with hunt at right back pushing Thomas further forward on the right which led to the goal. Taylor’s first change wasn’t great although I could see the sense in it at the time, his second change wasn’t just a substitution it was very tactical and won us the game. |

That takes some doing. Awesome! Have to agree on Collins; I thought he looked disinterested all the way through the first half. Was playing far too deep, not keeping up with play, running into space or chasing anything down - MT was constantly shouting at him to get higher, make runs, etc. In contrast, Marquis was all over their back line and ran his arse off; he looked absolutely knackered by the time he was subbed so I can understand why MT brought him off. Unfortunately CM is a lot less mobile than JM, and I think that’s why the momentum appeared to slow down. And bang on with CT - he was a monster today and kept Bishop quiet pretty much all game |

I would've thought Ward would have gone as well as he smashed Shaugnessy to the floor which the ref saw and booked him for it. Not sure Ward was booked, only Evans Could be right. Perhaps the ref missed what Ward did. It was right in front of me and it was quite the ruck. |

Excellent second half.
I think at half time neither side looked like scoring all afternoon, was poor game. Don't think we had a single shot in first half.
Second half both teams came out wanting to have a go which made it much more enjoyable and entertaining. Lots of chances. Some wreckless tackles for Portsmouth. Fantastic free kick and a late winner. Crowd livened up later in the game.
Must say just because seen comments about one song Pompey, they actually made quite a bit of noise, but i can imagine that if you are in Thatchers end the sound just doesn't travel with ground being so open.

After the disaster of a game he had on Saturday, his confidence could have deserted him entirely but instead I thought he had one of his best games in a Rovers shirt making some fine saves and his distribution was a lot better than what we've seen from him for the majority of this season.
Games like today you understand why he's so highly rated at Brentford. I think I need to do a better job at remembering he's a young keeper who is highly inexperienced at senior football level and so inconsistent performances are to be expected.

I hope that those who criticised Cox after the Blackpool game will give him praise today for an excellent performance. He has shown that he has immense mental strength as well as very good judgement. Watched the game on iplayer and as well as Cox, most of the players contributed well. Vale was (again) outstanding - he will surely go far in his career. Taylor was also very solid. Evans was the outstanding midfield player, and I thought Collins and Marquis both gave the Pompey defence a constant headache. But well done to the whole team. |

Pretty natural and normal reaction to compare the current manager with the last manager. It's been done every time we've ever changed management. I would think the op is very happy. As we all are. |
