Not really Super . Voters still had a choice and ultimately it boiled down to do you want to stop the far right getting power? Thankfully the French said a firm no thanks . When sh** gets serious , you have to vote accordingly. If halfway through polling in the UK we popped open the ballot boxes and let everyone know how it was going, that would i) influence what the parties said and did for the rest of the day and ii) influence a lot of those who hadn't yet voted... ...as I stated, it got the desired result but morally I think if you qualify for the second round you should stay on the ballot even if you urge your supporters to vote for someone else... Don't necessarily disagree on the whole, but that's all within the rules. As we've previously pointed out, it's not as though we've not experienced that before to skew the result one way or another.

I don’t agree . They have to separate rounds unlike us so your ballot box opening doesn’t work .

James Cleverly being the voice of reason? "The Conservative vote dropped to 6.8m in last week's election, down from 13.9m at the last election in 2019, sparking a furious debate over what the party should do next as it seeks to recover its standing with voters. Reform UK, which ran on a platform of cutting migration, slashing foreign aid and leaving the ECHR, garnered 4.1m votes, winning give seats. Some figures on the right of the party, including Ms Braverman, have said the focus should be on winning back Reform voters, many of whom backed the Conservatives at the 2019 election. But in his Times article, Mr Cleverly warned: "The Conservative Party has always been at its best when it embraces being a broad church. "We lost voters to the left and the right, and we won’t win them all back if we narrow our offer," he added." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czk0dzrmpdvo

I find Suella Braverman a particularly obnoxious and dangerous individual. Something about her really gets to me, more than Liz Truss, who I feel is equally loopy but somehow more honest about her beliefs.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Her Wiki page sums up in a few words all you need to know about Ms Braverman and the rest of the discarded rabble:
"Braverman is ideologically on the right wing of the Conservative Party. She was a supporter of Brexit, supports the withdrawal of the UK from the European Convention on Human Rights and supports sending cross-Channel migrants to Rwanda."
Nuff said.

They have scouts over monitoring every word on this thread so I can't say too much. Apparently I didn't realise they can read what we say.....🙄🤣

Oldie deserves a medal for staying civilised and reasonable against all that lot. Some of the posters on there are beyond belief. Two in particular and one currently banned. To be fair, our old chum Nobby is very civilised. I can envisage Nobby speaking at a Reform rally and getting a hearty clap from Nige. Then the other crew over there stride into the stage and Farage says from the side of his mouth 'get those bloody maniacs off! Now!'

Can’t be doing with that Bas creature , a nasty vermin like little racist. Nobby doesn’t seem to be my biggest fan because I pointed out the utter tripe he posted about Brexit on here in the past but at least he’s civil. My memory fades me but think most of them are former posters on here but banned for racist, threatening behaviour etc . A few real misogynistic prats as well 🙄 But….. we’re all Gas 😂😂

Nobby never apologised for accusing me of hating children before he flounced off. Is he still citing Guido? 🧐

Is he still citing Guido? 🧐 Hating children? Explain 🤔 Gassy made a comment about God help his kid or something, I posted shortly after and as I didn't say anything in support he accused me of not liking children. Bad mistake as my son was lying in intensive care at the time so I ripped into him. By the morning he'd deleted his account on here.

RE the comment, yeah, I mentioned something like god help your children don’t turn out like their father, to which Nobby started claiming I personally abused his children. Funny because France said the same to me the other week. I don’t read the other forum, but knowing how obsessed they get, I bet Nobby must have been livid jumping to many defence

Just been reading this thread (above). One of the many reasons I left that site was down to the smug, self satisfied intolerance of the site admin. A guy who freely admits not supporting Rovers by the way. As for the political "opinions" of many of them, they make Thatcher look like a communist.
Made the mistake of reading the site a couple of weeks ago and feel sorry for Cheshire Gas who by the way, is a lovely bloke. He has to help moderate that crap.

When did I say "God help your children don't turn out like their father" and personally directed it at you? I've said "God help the UK/London but can't recall bringing family into it. So kindly find the post your referring to so if I'm wrong I can apologise.

But it was you who first bought up your 3 Yr old and compared them to me (how else would I know you had children), it was you accusing me of being far right, it was you calling me a racist and you accusing me of making a racist post all at the same time.

I have been banned twice over there and I sense one of the mods is itching to ban me permanently. Apparently I wind people up, by stating my views. Well if countering horrible racist comments and hilarious unfounded comments of economic or political matters is "winding up" so be it.

He said, she said, France. If you deem it not acceptable then I don't really get why you're apologising but then saying, "yeah but". You're either sorry or you're not. I'm personally not offended by it - I think it's a fair enough comment. I bloody hope my daughter doesn't grow up to be a lunatic arguing with people on the Rovers forum like us lot! As it was with Nobby, the insult is on me, not my kids. If you want to say something about my child, then we'd have a very different conversation.
