Kuenssberg is paid nearly £900/day before tax. I have no issue with people being paid their market value, but given the mistake she's just made and that (for reasons I can't understand) she can't come up with a different strategy and different questions in time to still do the interview, why do we still fund the BBC....? She accidentally cc'd her colleagues into her email to Boris. 😁

First question is fairly straightforward, the election was a surprise so he moved a week after and therefore after the GCSEs started, then stayed until moving into Downing Street. Second question, don't know. Could be he temporarily moved closer to Westminster. Third question, he would state his home, not where he was living at the time. Fourthly, again don't know. Could be timing or oversight by staff during a busy period. Lastly, it's close to Westminster so makes sense. I see there are multiple theories doing the rounds about his sexuality or domestic arrangements, are these the 'rumours' you alluded to previously? So for the first. Has anyone suggested there was press camped day and night outside his house? No. In fact a few (even Owen Jones) suggest there was no press outside his house for any significant period of time - which makes sense, what's the point trying to "doorstep" the leader of the party who were certain to win by a landslide, especially given his public schedule had him up and down the country quite a lot of the time...? Second, the difference in location is about 5mins from Westminster in a car, or about two large furnished rooms that could be used for election work/meetings. Third, this was clarified a few years ago - it doesn't matter where you live most of the time or what properties you own. The declaration is effectively where you are sleeping that night (when the declaration is made) - unless it's a hotel for work. There have been a few cases in recent years where candidates for various elections claimed they were living in various rented/unfurnished properties in the constituencies they were contesting to look good and were investigated/warned/fined because they were actually living somewhere else... Fourth. This is the important one. Outside of election periods you can basically donate what you want to an MP/party. But during election periods both MPs and parties have spending limits, and this has been investigated at the 2019/17/15 elections (for example 'battle buses' being charged o the national campaigns when they were clearly targeted to support a single MP. As far as has been reported, Alli's penthouse was not declared in either Starmer's constituency return or the national party's return. Fingers crossed he didn't do any work on either of those whilst he was there... Fifth. These transition meetings cover similar information that actual government ministers are receiving - and much of it is classified. The only reason they are not normally held in government buildings is as a courtesy to the ministers/SPADs who are about to lose their jobs. Normally they are held in meeting spaces that are at least vaguely secure. Not sure they have ever been held in the properties of a major party donor with questionable links to foreign governments the UK would consider hostile (Syria to save everyone a Google...) As to his sexuality, I don't care - and that was not the rumour I saw a few months back. But there are more and more questions being asked about those living arrangements and this comes back to the main problem he/Rayner/Labour have - they called out all kinds of political opponents for all kinds of things whilst in opposition and now it turns out they are guilty of many of them before and after the election....

You don’t . ...I didn't for several years when I was living in Bristol. In 2024 (let alone 2018) it's a ludicrous tax that is nearly a century out of date. BTW we have a similar state broadcaster here in Australia (the ABC) with no license fee.

Listening to the radio doesn't require a license. We didn't have a TV (with a receiver) just a large monitor hooked up to a couple of laptops, and this shows why that law is nonsense...

Was the rumour a child? The rumour was an affair, which was hinted at well before his slip of the tongue mixing up the genders of his children. But since he mixed up sausages and hostages al bets are probably off...

Ok , so why are you worried about LK or is it only bbc radio that you found biased ? Struggling to get your beef with the bbc , something you didn’t watch and it’s management is stuffed full of Tory stooges

Why does Lineker get £3,700/day...? Zoe Ball gets £2,600/day... The BBC should use it's privileged position to develop new talent, not overpay for those who could walk into a similar role elsewhere for more money and (probably) less scrutiny...

How can a public service broadcaster justify that...?

How can a public service broadcaster justify that...? A film star could earn ten times that amount . Does that mean that the likes of Tom Cuise should be replaced by a young upstart ? Or Mick Jagger replaced by a teenager ? You just don’t like the BBC so are confecting an argument to get rid as it fits your view…. They have some lefties ! 🙄😂

Film stars work for commercial profit-making film companies. Their income comes from selling cinema tickets, selling streaming and/or physical copies of the film. Mostly they run at a profit even after paying the top stars a lot of money... The BBC is a public service broadcaster funded by the taxpayer. It should produce high quality content in a range of areas. But even if Lineker was would be paid that by a commercial competitor, how is that justification for paying him £3700 every day whether he's on air or not? The BBC charter/mission statements never mention ratings. They never mention competing with other broadcasters. They talk about impartiality (he's not). They talk about development of new and diverse talent, and he's a white male who's had the job for over two decades and in that time has risen to consume 22 individual license fees every single day - nearly 8000 every year - or, that money could be spent on the various regional services they continue to cut year after year...

I’ve only seen him stand up for refugees. I know your type have a problem this but good on him. He’s obvs annoying the right people 😘
