Disconnect between public and politicians? "Mr Harper said he accepts one piece of data is not "the only thing" but there have also been eight months of wages rising. He added that while there is "further to go", the choice for voters is about "do we have a plan and is it working?". Asked for the party's top three priorities, he said it was stopping illegal migration, the economy, and security. But Sarah-Jane said when she spoke to members of the public, their priorities were housing, the cost of living and the NHS. The fourth priority was schools." news.sky.com/story/politics-latest-sunak-starmer-davey-tories-labour-lib-dems-general-election-12593360?postid=7716583#liveblog-bodyExactly. Because they can't deliver on housing, cost of living or the NHS. All 3 priorities of the people have got worse under the Tories and even under Sunak's short leadership. Its amazing how they're genuinely convincing people to think that the actual priority is the boats. Funny how Labour's top priorities are all the priorities from the public. But apparently they don't have a plan? Do they have a plan?

Plenty of bills going to be lost, including Sunak's smoking bill. Bang goes his legacy.

You can find it on their website, instead of just listening to Sunak telling you they don’t have a plan 😊 Remind me of the Tory plan or policies they’re going to include in their manifesto? All I remember are some priorities for 2023 that they’ve failed on pretty much all of them

I don't what to cast my vote as an anti Tory vote,I want to be inspired!!

Nothing bad that has happened in the last 14 years is the fault of the Tories. It's all down to Gordon Brown. The good bits they accept. Now what were the good bits??

I was asking a serious question. Clearly something triggered the decision to call it for an unusual date - a date that was not suggested at or hinted at until a few hours before it was announced... It was clearly last minute otherwise the announcement would not have been outside in the pouring rain...so does anyone else have any thoughts about what triggered it? ...apologies for having to explain the question further anyway, hope I didn't offend.... Ok Super , give us your thoughts on why he called it at this time ? supergas ?

Thank goodness the British people voted against him UTG I thought it was supposed to be a positive vote for an 'independent Britain' not a vote against the incumbent PM.

Ok Super , give us your thoughts on why he called it at this time ? supergas ? Sorry for not replying instantly... ...I still don't know. I didn't when I asked the question and I've still not read any good reasons as to why it's earlier than was teased... ...the only thing that makes any kind of sense is that they didn't want to clash with the US Presidential Election. Why that is I have no idea - the theory is that the UK/US are key leaders in terms of global influence, but reading a lot of the posts on here that's clearly not true...

Added a little poll. Curious to see who people will be voting for on here, I remember Yatton mentioning he has to tactically vote For what it's worth we should remind everyone that a UK General Election is not a vote for a party, it's a vote for a person to represent you in Parliament. That person may be a party member, they may vote with that party in Parliament. Or they might not. In general feel free to vote how you like, it's a free country. But try to elect the best person in your constituency, don't vote for an idiot because of the rosette they wear...
