I'm expecting to see renewed calls for PR from the Lib Dems following the election with Reform joining in too.
And the way this is going I wouldn't be surprised to see the Tories piping up too for the first time on this issue.

To be fair the Lib Dems are polling at around 10-12% of the popular vote and in the MRP polls are predicted to get around 50-60 seats - so not far out proportionally. Reform would benefit much more with 15-20% of the vote but only 3-5 predicted seats.

What's the difference between expansion and countries wanting to join? www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cjqq8kgz80ytThe West provoked the Ukraine war, Charles is an eco-loony, carbon dioxide isn't a pollutant and Reform candidates nothing to do with him. Also, Brexit would be fine if he was in charge. Hmm??

It'll certainly give ammunition to the anti Farage movement. Problem is, this isn't new and plenty would agree with him. Certainly on here Gregory Stevens, Pirate and Gulf all had Russia leanings. Even Nobby stated it was EU expansion until I pointed out that we didn't bomb Dublin when they adopted the Euro. Plenty are leaping on this, hopefully he'll lose support, but we'll see.

Ouch! But this is Teflon Nigel, man of the people.
"Labour's shadow defence secretary, John Healey, said: "These are disgraceful comments, which reveal the true face of Nigel Farage: a Putin apologist who should never be trusted with our nation's security.
"Up until now, there has been a united front amongst Britain's political leaders in supporting the people of Ukraine against the unprovoked and unjustifiable assault they have suffered at the hands of Vladimir Putin.
"Nigel Farage has put himself outside that united position, and shown that he would rather lick Vladimir Putin's boots than stand up for the people of Ukraine. That makes him unfit for any political office in our country, let alone leading a serious party in parliament." "

The Ukraine war is entirely Putin's fault but the West gave Putin the internal political reason to launch it. Pretty much a conclusion that every commentator who is an expert on Russian politics would agree with - NATO and the EU expanding seems fair enough to those of us who live in the West, but it's a political threat to domestic Russian politicians... Should NATO and the EU be allowed to expand? Of course. Will Russia react? Of course. Any decent politician would only be surprised it took Russia so long...

If it wasn't this then he'd have another. What Farage is doing is indirectly excusing him and laying the blame with us, it legitimises what he's done.

Absolutely correct Stuart, look at NATO since it's inception never invaded another Country, can't say the same for Russia over the same period.

I can’t help but feel this is actually a ploy/ask for some Russian interference in the campaign to boost his chances.

Sure, it’s the rapists fault he raped her, but it’s the woman who provoked him by wearing a short skirt.

No one country in Europe could stand alone against Russia, just on weight of numbers. Imagine if we were united...just saying
