Some of the comments on here, dear me. Football managers can manage, advise and instruct players who play at a much higher level than they ever did. I'm assuming that's ok because they're male. These managers also operate as pundits too at times.
Maybe it's more a case of being stuck in the past. The female commentators and pundits are generally at least as knowledgeable as their male colleagues, especially having listened to some of the so called experts over the years who trot out cliche after cliche.
Mens football has a lot to learn from the women's game also, but that will take many years until the dinosaurs such as Barton are gone

Well deserved and not surprisingly not in the running for any of the many Champ league 1 or even league 2 vacancies at the moment.

ironic thing.the only ones who watch will be the ones who dont like him on here. Majority don't care as he no longer is anything to do with the club I won’t watch a second of it but I’m sure there’ll be enough snapshots online to confirm that the bloke is a prick Pictures of him in Rovers training gear no doubt, just like the headline the other day about championing his murdering racist brother  |

He's trying to become a combination of Piers Morgan and Andrew Tate - an "edgy", "outspoken" individual who hasn't been turned by the growing "woke" element of society.
He's clutching at anything to stay relevant.

To be fair…..That commentary from Sheridan was appalling. Completely lacking in passion, boring and hard to follow. Not a lead commentator. Don’t agree on the whole though there are decent women commentators out there.

This is why I don’t read your posts. Why would anyone ever bother reading the posts of someone who’s not posted at the highest level. Have you ever been paid for your opinion? A critic? If not, I just don’t want to see it. Completely pointless and no value to the forum. I’m not being employed as an expert analyst. If I appeared as an expert on match of the day I wouldn’t expect anyone to give my views any credibility whatsoever because I haven’t played the sport at that level. I can still have an opinion on football, same as anyone else in this country regardless of gender. Sorry but this is completely pointless and of no value. |

I turned the Crawley match Radio Briz off when I heard the not so
dulcid tones of Sheridan Robbins !
Men on men”s games woman on women’s ! 🤔

I just think he was stating what a lot of people think of the quality and mostly the sound of woman commentators

However that is personel taste and if women want to commentate on games so be it. |

It's almost as if the current male pundits and commentators provide any valuable insight themselves. They're just there for casual viewers who might not understand offside aren't they ? There's barely any tactical insight beyond what most of us here could observe anyway, I don't need a world cup winner to explain that to me or to describe a goal in 20 clichéd words.
When people harp on about preferring a male voice to describe what is taking place in front of you, the debate really has lost any relevance
