Just watched Wrexham away at Blackburn
They huffed and puffed but looked pretty ordinary to me
AC really is taking a gamble if he heads into League 2, no guarantee they will go up and he could be slogging it out down there for a while
Not sure it shows much ambition, but if they are offering us anywhere near a million I couldn’t care less

They have never paid anywhere near that have they? They were linked with JCH the same time as us, but the Peterborough owner said when it came to making a big, they pulled away. Suggested that myself previously, Wrexham's record transfer is less than ours, in the summer they almost completed the signing of Humphries for £350K, paying £750K+ now for a forward, who seems to have forgotten how to score, does seem an unlikely gamble. Unless manager less Charlton have made a big sale this window you do wonder where they are also suddenly going to find nearly £1m, probably only Bolton could afford AC and as other have suggested will they even pay up?

A real possibility his valuation won't be met depends on what the owners are prepared to accept. Ac staying is becoming a real possibility

This as well… Let’s sleep and see… No desire to be sceptical, Rich, but this was the same twitter account that said that Joey Barton was on City's shortlist of 3 to replace Nigel Pearson:

Wrong. Got 1 million and closer to 2 after add ons and a sell on. Still not mega bucks for a player of Lambert's class. Especially considering we got double that for both Hayles & Roberts a decade earlier.
Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but Saints paying £1M for Lambert who went onto play in a World Cup for England a few years after leaving us was an absolute steal!

To me its looking more likely he will stay. Either that or someone will put in a last ditch desperate bid on the last day.
I would still take 750k as long as its paid up front with a sell on clause.
If the QPR bid is real I assume it was probably offered in multiple instalments. I'm also pretty sure they have no money anyway?

It won't happen but if Collins goes we should easily be able to afford JCH. We all know Collins is a dud at the moment. JCH hasn't been playing for posh because he wants out and somehow they are doing fine without him. Collins money would help pay for the new stand unfortunately though that is probably what the owners have in mind. We must go for JCH he doesn't want to sign for anyone else but the owners don't give a monkeys about that so sad. If JCH is that desperate to sign for us we could pick him up for nothing in 5 months. The club has also just spent £300k+ on Conteh, I'd personally rather the club continue to spend money on similarly promising players with potential to develop. This should be our model going forward, singing young promising players but you do need to balance that out with experience. Saying that, I also don't think we should bid for JCH now but I would 100% take him in the summer on a free (although its likely his wage demands would be far too high and therefore not worth it). Most of the experienced players are available in the summer when out of contract.

we have to be realistic. if Collin's mindset is such that a bid from a few clubs makes him not able to play in a game for us we need to take the best offer get a sell on clause/international clause and move on.

If they choose Collins over Niall Ennis and put in an improved offer, I think Ennis would be a good fit for us, initial loan until the end of season with a view to buy in the summer. He's not getting much of a look in at Blackburn, bar the odd brief appearance coming off the bench late in games. He's not exactly prolific but he's got plenty of pace, power & energy that we desperately lack up front, plus has got a promotion on his CV just last season at Plymouth.

No we don't. That is an extremely weak mindset. We should not be held to ransom. Not at all. The wa the game works these days is people will wait. Bolton/Wrexham/Charlton will wait until next window - maybe even the next Jan window and then our position gets weaker. Get the £600 whatever it upfront get appearance/goals/sell on and international bonus payments included on top and move on. He's been ok. He clearly has a weak mindset if some other clubs making offers means he can't get up for a match - you know the thing he is paid to do.. I bet if it were Liverpool (A) on the Sunday he'd have found his mental strength and managed to play.....

Hopefully they come in with an improved offer today.
We accept the bid and tell them once we found his replacement. You can have him
