You only have to think back to Matty Taylor a prolific scorer for us but he always needed several chances for every one he put in the net. Frustrated me so much when Lee Johnson was purring at his finishing, upon the unvailing. Matty was a brilliant worker. A great link player and adequate finisher, but not great. 7 goals in 3 years for the sheeeet after leaving us.

I think the club should probably set a deadline which would give us something like 48 hours to bring players in once he’s sold I reckon. It would be pretty crap to sell him in the final hours and then not have time to get our targets through the door. This is starting to worry me now, hopefully we’ve got a couple lined up just waiting for if and when we get the Collins deal done.

Back to AC, what happens now if Bolton decide £600K(?) is a sufficient offer and feel there's better value elsewhere, can AC really return to playing for Rovers after effectively downing tools last week? I would say yes and in that scenario if he is picked to start or comes on from the bench I would hope he would get a big ovation to hopefully spur him on.

I think some will and some won’t , but no players bigger than a club and in the event of it not going through then he can win the fans over with some good hard work and effort. Players have bounced back from worse. It’ll certainly be a test of his mental strength but who goes through life without a test of their mental strength ? Look he’s a well paid professional footballer who needs to perform to continue to earn good money for the rest of his short career, he’s probably only got 5-6 years left to continue to do that so the balls in his court.

I can't recall any player bouncing back from going on strike, Muzzy did something similar and was soon sold.

Bolton have made another bid for Collins according to @marciles on Twitter, who is chief football writer at The Bolton News.

Let's hope it's accepted. Really don't want this going into 5pm on Thursday or even worse not selling him at all and his lazy ass sulking around the club for another 6 months.
If Bolton have bid 750k and we don't accept it, beggars belief IMO.

Bolton have made another bid for Collins according to @marciles on Twitter, who is chief football writer at The Bolton News. So they bid 600k and that was snubbed and now they’ve bid more ? Yet some fans said we should snap the hands off anyone who bids more than 500k 😂 Think we’ll get 800k

Looking back at the JCH "I love playing alongside Tom Nichols" scenario, I would love it if we kept Collins and sign JCH at the end of the season on a free. I can imagine them working very well together. And if the goal is to get to the Championship, isn't the idea to keep hold of your best players while adding quality??
AC is lacking confidence but there's a good reason why Bolton are sniffing around, get him in form and he is a handy player to have in your team!

I can't recall any player bouncing back from going on strike, Muzzy did something similar and was soon sold. There's been a couple of high profile ones.
Luis Suarez pretty much refused to play for Liverpool and was banished from the training ground for a couple of months. He said sorry, stayed for another year and ended up having his best Liverpool season scoring 31 goals in 33 games.
Harry Kane too, went on strike for a few days and didn't report back for pre season training, trying to force through a transfer away from Spurs. He ended up staying another 2 years scoring another 47 PL goals before joining Bayern.
Obviously the size of clubs, standard of player and finances involved are on another stratosphere to Rovers and Aaron Collins, but there are similarities in that they were the clubs most saleable assets who refused to play, went on strike or initially downed tools. They ended up getting back in the clubs good books by saying sorry and by continuing to put in top level performances. I suppose the other main difference is Collins hasn't been putting in top level performances, if he had been then maybe we would be looking at a far more substantial fee, and also there'd probably be a bit more good will and understanding from Gasheads. As it stands basically refusing to play to try and orchestrate a move away when he's only scored 3 goals this season is a bit of a p*sstake.

Bolton need to stump a fair chunk up front, otherwise we might never see it, how they carry on lording it up after their financial crisis is incredible.
We ll feel like we re Anne Kilmer if it doesn't come off! 😂 (kyle Walkers on, off, on, off !)

Bolton have made a ‘final offer’
Guess we will find out pretty soon if he’s staying or not
Lovely place, Bolton.
If you do go Aaron, take your rain mac and woolly gloves
