I think it's safe to say he'll be off in this window.
Which, for me, is a real shame as there was a point where he was scoring for fun and it looked like he was in with a sniff of a Wales call-up and/or a big money move elsewhere.
Perhaps things have just stagnated a bit and a change of scenery might bring the best out of him again. As long as we hold out for a decent wedge then I suppose that might benefit both parties. However if he is somehow still with us next week then I hope he can rediscover his best form and go out on a high (and command a greater fee in the summer).

Aaron Collins is a weird 1. I can't remember a player for us taking such a big drop after being so highly regarded for a season or 2. You can say all you like about his assists etc but he's just a glorified Tom Nichols on current form. Personally I'd be happy with £750k with a sell on. He's not worth much to us on current form. You were one of Nichols biggest fan boys!!

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with any comments here, but I am surprised there is little recognition that Aaron Collins last season spent most of the season as the Striker farthest forward and this year has been shifted over the left somewhat.
I think the shortage of goals is not only confidence, lack of focus but inevitably, he did score a lot of goals through being the main striker, picking up on errors, hassling defenders and latching on to loose balls where he was strong. Moved over to the left this season has inevitably impacted his effectiveness where scoring goals are concerned.

He put in one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from a teenager at the Mem for Hartlepool. Looked like he had a great future but struggled to ever recover after suffering an ACL injury.

Moved over to the left this season has inevitably impacted his effectiveness where scoring goals are concerned. It's definitely a lack of confidence thats for sure. However the amount of sitters, one on ones and clear cut chances he has missed this season is shocking, not only that but he's also been guilty many times of not passing it to team mates for simple tap ins, taking too long on the ball when in acres of space allowing defenders to get back and disposes him reguarly and just generally making poor decisions, like shooting from ridiculous angles instead of looking for teammates and vice versa, trying to pass instead of shooting in good positions. It's not like he's not been getting chances, he's just either hit them straight at the keeper, put them wide or ballooned them over. I don't know the exact stats but I wouldn't be surprised if he's had more attempts and more big chances to score this season than last. He does still create though, and is the 2nd most creative player in the division, in spite of the amount of poor decisions he has constantly made this season. That's the most frustrating thing.

Scoring goals would bump up his transfer value, so hardly in his own interests to do that recently?

I thought this was an intersting stat.
Devante Cole is the top scorer in League 1 so far with 16 goals. He has had 59 shots in total, and been on target with 28 of them.
Aaron Collins has actually had more shots with 61 and more shots on target with 29 than the leagues top scorer. Yet has only scored with 3 of them.
Funny old game.

Frustrated me so much when Lee Johnson was purring at his finishing, upon the unvailing. Matty was a brilliant worker. A great link player and adequate finisher, but not great.

Back to AC, what happens now if Bolton decide £600K(?) is a sufficient offer and feel there's better value elsewhere, can AC really return to playing for Rovers after effectively downing tools last week?
