In the summer we had Eddie's wedding- reportedly slowing things down.
We had the JCH saga.
And now we're messing about leaving points on the table because we can't get a DM over-the-line. Exeter were sh**- we'd of beaten them with a DM. We would have a chunk more points had we executed the JCH deal.
I'm not one of these fans that expects us to spend big. But there's a real feeling of tardiness in the most vital department.

Sorry who was doing it before he who must not be named mates? I can't remember us having any scouts. Tommy Widdrington. His head of recruitment at Aldershot was a scout here I believe? Just made a huge profit selling a player to them across the road. Jamie Hedges recruited a lad at Aldershot that if he can stay fit is easily good enough for League One and should be aiming to get back to Championship level. Dejan Tetek. Remember the name. I’m sorry but this goes back years and years and we are seeing one again what a scatter gun approach under the previous majority owner has done for us. 20-30 million quid we’ve lost in the last 8 years and we have no scouting department in place. Its a joke We had a recruitment set up, hen he who must not be named got rid of them to be replaced by is mates who did who knows what. Now we have nothing To be fair we took 3-4 weeks to appoint a manager and then another month before the window started. Why was nothing being put in place in preparation for this window? |

What is going on here? Why are we yet to replace the “football man” Eddy Jennings. The department is a disgrace. Left in a very very unhealthy position by the former head of football operations. I have to question how he ever got the job in the first place, a top 8 budget blown on a squad that’s woefully short of quality past the best 11. This really really needs sorting out and ASAP. not going to say it was perfect before, but as some of us pointed out (and the owners basically highlighted) this was one of the problems of Barton having so many of his acolytes throughout the club and would inevitably be a problem when he went for whatever reason. The owner made mention of having club staff and this is just one of the issues caused now with Barton's bag man gone. Not saying Widdrington was the right man and/or had the best network or methods, but it is exactly the point about their being club staff who are there when other changes happen The club need to be better though and really need to get things sorted. Taylor just said it on the radio. When he came in we had no scouting and we are behind all other clubs in recruitment. My old pal , Roadman ,always said EJ having that job was basically fraud…he was right They signed 18 people from Liverpool in 3 years, someone on here tried to tell me Holloway did the same thing with Londoners! Albeit it’s over 10 times the size of the place and he never signed anything like 18! Jed Ward to Prescott Cables, I do believe fraud has taken place. GB News trying to make contact now with Barton via his agent Eddie Jennings. They will lock this thread soon, the likes of BettyBlue and his supporters won’t have this. |

There is no Recruitment department …
Off the field we pull below average people from job sites with an aim of low cost over quality.
On the field we have no true scouting network or football intelligence programme.
We then wonder why we are in the mess both on and off the field.

Fault lies at the foot of previous owner because we had one irrespective of what you think about TW. Wail allowed Barton to replace it with his mates which we all knew would evaporate when he left. Which it did, leaving us exposed once injuries struck. Current owners need to take a degree of responsibility. Once they had responsibility for the club they must have realised the position regarding recruitment and if they didn’t know that they should have been seeking advice from people who did know. Whatever, it needs to be sorted for the summer. Fingers crossed. UTG! |

Not sure of Who or what depts but there was a consensus that some of those affected were a negative influence around the club and have been dismissed.

Scorched earth then start again with new ethos.
Feel sorry for any staff caught up but maybe from a ruthless owner point of view best to cut right back and rebuild.
Horrible I know if you are an employee.
