Finally we sign a player who is young with bags of talent from a lower level who I have no doubt will probably make us a nice tidy sum of money in 18 months time. I don't know the fee but its obvious other clubs were looking at him higher up in the leagues but felt it would be too soon for him to jump any higher than league one at present. Fair play to us in stumping up a decent fee for a player who we can sell on in the future and he's exactly the type of midfielder we need to play alongside Evens Ward finley in the centre of the park. We need to look for gems in the lower leagues just like Peterborough do and how we used to do many years ago because there is so much untapped talent there just waiting to be given a chance

So the bogs might get a make over again and we have signed a player that might get a chance of possession after head tennis in midfield due to hoof ball from both goalkeepers. Thank goodness we are not going backwards.

It's the way of the World now. Social Media 'banter' Every club does it, City did it with the snake, I remember Shrewsbury releasing a video taking the p*ss after we all moaned about their antics. As childish as it is, it's the norm these days. It's harmless. Nah it's really poor for me. Some banter around actual football sure but signing a player? It's a business deal I really don't get what we're gloating about. It did seem a bit strange to me it's not like we are some major rivals or there is any needle or anything is there really , I doubt you looked up anything about us until Conteh much like I didn't have any interest in Rovers since that Play-off final . But maybe it's just the modern way I have enjoyed reading this over the last few days a decent and varied forum , I will be keeping an eye out for your results and checking in on this every so often for sure so you have a new subscriber . Hopefully a win tomorrow and Conteh plays (well) |

Disley played for you and he's a classy bloke. Tbh- as much as anything I think Rovers fans just love being reminded about DC. I'm 35 and in my time following the club there's no-one that united the fans in similar manor. An easy DC link will always raise a smile- albeit I suggest this was announcement was in bad taste. I thought Grimsby were the better side on the day but we were the better side over the season. When Puddy handled outside the box at 0-1 I honestly thought it was game over. People say the Championship playoff is the biggest game in football because of the prize. The conference playoff final is the real big prize because of what is there to lose. If we'd lost that shoot out we'd have lost parachute funding, potentially closed the academy etc.
Agree Grimsby fans were class that day and always had a soft spot for Grimsby since

They might say he doesn’t influence games but just because he doesn’t do overhead kicks and stepovers doesn’t mean anything. Centre backs rarely split defences open with passes but they win games by defending and preventing conceding. It’s just as important.
He seems exactly what we need.
Although I fully expect a broken leg on his debut and seeing a few games of him hobbling in 2026.
