Listened to the club interviews of Ward and Taylor after the match. Impressed with the club interviewer. As in other interviews he seems to ask the questions that we want answers to and not just those which are easy for the club or the interviewee. Does anyone know his name or role/background?

There was a lot of praise on here for Oxford (and other teams) when we were all looking for new managers. Bit quieter now and their fans aren’t at all happy with the appointment.
Not so straight forward is it lads. 🤣

Special mention to Lewis Gordon when he came on. Thought he was excellent, and did will against Exeter too. I like Flash. Underrated and at worst a good backup for me. |

Seemed we started a 3-1-3-2-1
Ward
Wilson Crama Friend
Conteh
Hunt Finlay Vale
Evans Thomas
Martin
Defending was 3-4-2-1
Attacking 3-1-3-3 With Hunt and Vale giving width.

We wanted “good young keeper” and now we have him. Well done Jed Ward you bossed that. Well done Conteh, bar one moment you were imposing and composed. He’s a big fella, adds some long overdue muscle to our team. 5ft 9.5. 11 stone 9 pounds. Doesn’t sound big to me but maybe you are writing metaphorically ? |

Certainly looks more physically imposing than those figures suggest. He has good agility and a great leap. There were two shots that were going over but he definitely had them covered. |

Shame the ref didnt disallow Oxfords goal ,i guess he didnt think the ball hitting Harris' raised forearm changing flight and going in was handball |

Actually I’ve had enough of A C now good luck to him whatever he is after, but that’s it from me ! 💙Utg Agree with this. If anyone is worried about how we replace his goals. I'll play up front for free and something will bounce in the net once off my arse once over half a season. Yeah but how you gonna create space for other players have plenty of assists and cause the opposition to double up on you ? You might even make it to the 15 minute mark before the fans start booing you. ..haha |

Yeah it was a 3-4-2-1 basically - Conteh and Finley sitting with Evans and Thomas off Wardrobe. Vale and Hunt pushed higher up in attack/possession. Good balance. |

Just, wow! Ive said it many times on here that when Finley plays well Bristol Rovers play well. He has struggled getting to grips with L1 but recent performances have been like Sam of L2. Conteh playing in front of the defence will help and we may even see another league goal from him. |

Conteh playing in front of the defence will help and we may even see another league goal from him. This definitely seems to be the case. Getting a midfield that allows Finley to perform is key. Ward could do that, looks like Conteh may also. Can we build around them for next season? Finley seems to be really up for it at the moment. The sliding challenge was a real sliding doors moment, get that slightly wrong and we are down to 10 and probably losing. He nailed it, went up the other end, smashed one at the keeper and Vale sealed it. Long live Finley! |
