Well, my dad's bigger than your dad............
Luton, Brentford, that's how you do it.
There are other small clubs that will do it in the future as well, using the same business model
B*** 82 PLC can * off back to their shiny better than your ground nah nah nah nah nah Sleeping giant my arse stadium
Should have been relegated to the lowest point in 1982 and been forced to re-build, might have had a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of respect for them
(NAH !!!!, * 'em all)

its strange to say we are stagnating i have followed since the 82 season where i always thought there was nothing between us but we have built something now to be proud of on and off the pitch to give us the best chance of maybe just for one season to play prem football inthe last 9 years the gap has been huge. 9 years championship to your years in the bottom leagues plus out the league 20000 to 24000 average to your still the same 7000 to 8000 a ground that would grace the prem to yours that is no better than some non league clubs a owner that to be fair may not get things right on the pitch but puts his money where his mouth is off it ie training ground ashton gate bristol bears womens football academy and maybe if he gets the go ahead new 3000 all seater hotel and shops your owner a stand that looks more suited to low league standard we sell 1 player for more money than your whole squad is worth and your new stand and much more come on chaps take the green eyed monster away and try not to clutch at straws hopefully i dont get banned as i do like to have some good banter with you boys when i do post but some need a reality check Where would you be if Lansdown hadn't thrown is money at the club, it's not like you've worked hard as a club to get where you are, be honest who many games have you really enjoyed in the Championship in recent years, compared to our Wembley penalty shoot out win and beating both Accrington and Scunthorpe on the last day on the season to gaim promotion. Like in life itself people with the most money don't always have the best times in life, earning something the hard way is usually more enjoyable than it being handed to you on a plate.

Spot on Simon. Hard to take for us gasheads but this one accepts they are and have been miles ahead of us for many years now. on and off the pitch. I watch Championship football on Sky on a regular basis and apart from the odd game the standard is way above league one. Not only the pace of the games, but the skills on show. Great to see that Ipswich who were streets ahead of league one last season are doing so well and Plymouth are making a decent go at it. It’s clear to me we have to have a huge improvement next season to challenge for the playoffs yet alone the automatic spots and as our neighbours down the road have shown it takes bucketfulls of money to just stay there as a middle of the table side. Just like Luton fans were saying about Watford ten yrs ago, they’re “light years ahead”. Things can change quickly in football. What Luton fans were saying that? 10/11 years ago Luton were non league into lg2 so every professional London team was above them. Yeovil were above them, Bury were above them..

luton and brentford and bounmouth have done well but what you all forget is they have also come from behind you to.we won your league at a canter under cotts.its not about who is bigger than who,the point i was trying to make is we were about the same dap in the 80s but you have stayed put not just on the pitch but off it.yes are rosy owner has played his part and yes built a great ground and the fans came and over the years we have gone from 8000 to over 20000+ but you are the ones still getting the same support as you did in the 80s.you cant even fill the new stand now.now that is stagnant.

We are a sleeping giant
Just been in the coma for a very very long time
141 years to be precise
For a club that has spent pretty much its entire existence in the bottom 2 divisions it’s no real surprise!

Would you like a keyboard with proper punctuation facilities and maybe a caps lock button? I'm sure if we had a whip round we could get you one. Alternatively, nobody cares what you think.

I'd still far rather be us than that, and when the tables turn again (they will do), try not to riot or burn down our stadium.

Never felt hatred for the 82 but hated what the club hierarchy and fans did to 8 players and local businesses. That will never be forgotten. Geoff Merrick told the truth, in a BBC radi Bristol interview. It made for harrowing listening. Houses bricked, cars vandalised, 💩 put through letterboxes and threats , daily. No player should be threatened into backing out of a contract. The whole story is a myth. The 8 players were scared and forced, by means of intimidation, to give up their contracts.

We have been stagnant for a long time. A very long time in fact. You could say since we foolishly sold Eastville 80 years ago. We have been gypsies and paupers ever since. There have been some fun times though. I’ve seen Rovers play league games on four different grounds. I’m pretty sure no other club’s fans could say that. And finally it feels like we’re making a bit of progress. At long last we’ve made a decision about where we’re going to play long term (at the ground we’ve owned for 25 years 🙄) and we have built our first new stand since the North Stand at Eastville in the 1950’s. It’s always been great to be a Rovers fan, as I’m sure you feel about City. And yes, off the pitch you are light years ahead of us, but on it, for all the tens, maybe hundreds of millions Mr Lansdown has spent, you are still only one division above us. That’s why Bournemouth, Brentford and Luton are an inspiration.

Well well well, here he is our old mate Brislington Ted. You might have a different name but the modus operandi absolutely reeks of you, make some reasonable posts but always with the undertone of pish taking and self superiority.Nice to see you are still policing the Rovers forum though but don’t get too wound up about us cos we mean nothing to you and are not your rivals? That bloke on OTIB who last time I looked had about 30k posts (it was a long time age so probably way more by now) is a bit like you, just kidding his name is super and it’s definitely you squire.Deary me why don’t you copulate off to your own kind cos your pontificating (although I find it amusing) has no place here.

Fair play mate. Should have known that. Was a steward at the Goldstone when I was a student. I satisfied myself by thinking Charlton and Chester, at three each were our closest ’rivals’.
